Attention Tom Gazzola and other Oilers/hockey media...
The Carpathians are very private and like to share information about themselves with only their ladies or companions and friends. If you have any personal and sometimes not so personal questions about them as individuals they wish for you to ask them directly, they will answer every question from their truemates always. If you have trouble hearing them they are very good with pendulums, automatic writing and spirit boards. Their best and most powerful gift is their communication skills.
Matts insistence on posting innuendos that the trade is all macts fault is pretty funny
His piece on oilers nation was even worse.
Another writer over there while talking about how horrible the deal was, mentioned that "it was something the old regime would do".
Minor details that mact didn't actually make that kind of trade though I guess. Despite the catcalls and the pressure, he chose to hold his cards instead of dealing for pennies on the dollar.
I can only guess that those that were desperate to play the blame game are in too deep and cant really admit that the market and offers for our players just weren't there over the past few years. Or even worse the notion of "experienced gm" or whatever tag line they used was total bs. Building this team with its constraints on free agency (that chiarelli doesn't even really have due to Connor) or trading etc etc is way tougher than they imagined. And even that mact may have actually done the organization a solid instead of Bowing to the pressure like pc the saviour just did
I'm not even saying the deal has no chance of ever being a win for the oilers. Just that these writers are totally unwilling to admit that maybe they were flat out wrong. About everything
"But but but petry !!...we could still have petry if only mact would've signed him to a deal he wasn't worth before the fact !!"
Pretty over discussing oiler gm's, but when these bloggers are still spewing word vomit about him, gotta respond in kind I guess

I hate all of u - Ihateallofu
My problem with Mac-T was the fact that he squandered opportunities to fill holes in our lineup. He had a shot at Bishop but cheaped out at the last minute and he could have been the smart one to grab Leddy and or Boychuk.

Zero doubt he dropped the ball on more than one occasion.
But he also made some positive moves. But these are never mentioned from said bloggers. Just petry and nikitin on repeat..
Can't say I know too much the bishop deal, but I'll agree that leddy and boychuk (especially boychuk would've done a lot for us had mact got in the game
I'd also like to point out how many times I've read macts inability to judge defensive talent. Point in fact the "Schultz Norris" comments that have been parroted endlessly.
Even forgetting that maybe Schultz could've been a lot better had we actually put him in a position to succeed, I won't say mact didn't miss the boat on that statement.
But I'm curious to know how many times those that were convinced pc as our saviour, are gonna mention and quote his words on how good larsson is going to be. And akready is.
I don't wanna quote can we I'm too lazy to look, but there's been some reasonably claims. Especially initially. But he's been sure to temper those words recebtly I think

But he was getting bent for Boychuk and refused. So he instead decided to get our d filled and signed Pouliot and Fayne. He didn't have the luxury of waiting until the end of the summer when Boychuk and Leddy were eventually dumped. What would everyone have been saying if he didn't sign any UFA guys that season, and then Boychuk and Leddy didn't come available?
Can't use hindsight when it was all about timing. Mact would have gotten slaughtered more if he didn't make those signings then they didn't come available then we enter the season with an even worse d.
It's sad that this might actually not be an unreasonable statement
I remember all the people still believing and defending In schremp long after it was clear he was not nhl quality.
Not there yet by any means, but I'm reminded of that when I hear people vehemently defending yaks and blaming it on coaching
