Not the perfect trade I will admit. I'm just saying if the contract talks on both times stagnate it could be a trade where at least both teams receive back a strong top4 D. Plus if Trouba signs in WPG it will be for big money and they will have 3 high paid RHD anyways. Just was a thought.

But you do say those kinds of things, " oh my god I will lose it if he signs with the Leafs "or " I will never watch them again if we don't get this player" it's always drama with you on every player that you like or the Sabre have interest in. Let it go, if we get Vesey then we get him if not, move along to someone else.

We can pass judgment on this kid ( me included) all day long but the bottom line is, he will sign where he feels works for him best. You can't demand top 6 minutes when you never played a game in the NHL.

Fair enough. I'm just one of those people who doesn't think it'll be the end of the world if he doesn't sign, and I absolutely have no idea if he will sign here or not.

On a side note, I just saw some of Vasili Glotov's highlights, and I cannot wait to see what this kid does in Cape Breton next year! Kid looks legit!

I agree that Buffalo is an attractive destination for vesey, the fact that he has agreed to meet with the Sabres brass indicates Buffalo is on his short list. Supposedly that list only includes 2 or 3 teams. I think it was a good move by murray to give up a 3rd to have a chance to negotiate early. If nothing else it sends a strong message that he is wanted here.

Buffalo covets him, and players like to be wanted. That could give the sabres an edge over a team like chicago.

EvanderKane has 2 years left on his deal, Vesey has a chance to step up and be a number 1 winger

I hope they land the kid, the offensive core of this team will be set for a long time
