The whole 5'9" or 5'11" thing is easy to find out....I just don't know how to find it....but the NHL Combine for Marner's draft year would give you the REAL numbers on height and weight.
I have to think they do not "fudge" the stats there. - underhill14

I wonder how long everyone was staring and trying to count blocks
Edit: according to Google a cinder block is typically 8" and I am guessing that the photo with Matthews has 9 blocks to the floor, making that line at the top of his head 72". Which would make him about 73-74" tall... or 6'1" to 6'2". Go figure that is exactly how tall he was listed at the combine. - vermie22
I think you are spot on.
Marner is just at the line with a little poof in his hair making him 5'11".
CSI-HB has cracked this poop wide open.
Proof is in, Marner is 5'11" and Matthews is 6'2".
Both are tall enough for the NHL. |

Now we get to deal with the idiots on the Buffalo thread suggesting all Leafs fans were convinced we were getting Stamkos.

Yes and not one of them EVER suggested him in their lineup. |

Could have. I heard his mother say his brother grew a couple of inches late.
(Same thing happened to me. 6 to 6'2" in my summer after HS graduation.)
The kid will be fine in the NHL. He plays the right style game for his size. |

When I was back reading, Dozzer had the most realistic line up except he bumped his own family out.
I've got a feeling/vibe that the Leafs are going to try:
Rychel, Matthews, Marner
Those 3 starting the season as a 3rd line, growing together, finding chemistry.....I don't know, something about it just looks really good to me.
Marner playing with better versions of Tchachuk and Dvorak...that's the line I'm rooting for.

It was way more fun then what I was doing at work. I write banking software, and was working on a task making sure our software calculates fee accruals correctly to the 13th decimal point, as I had discovered a rounding/precision issue last week, and now need to fix it.
I would much rather count cinder blocks. - vermie22

think they're going with Matthews & Marner on the same line based on the camp this week. Marner was asked about how long would it take for chemistry between you guys and would it click right away due to the skill and whatnot, and he said hopefully, it's what you want.. Marner said Matthews reminds him of Dvorak from London because he can do it all. Said he's excited to get on a line with him and hopefully chemistry develops.
