People get way to excited about young prospects after a few good games.
I'm hoping he pans out a good top4 D.
at this point, he is not yet.

He only played 53nhl games (10points) and it is yet to be seen whether he'll make the team this season as one of the 7 d-men.

To me his max potential is a 2nd pairing d-man. We should all love it if he pans out to be just that. To put him on 1st d-line is just a bit crazy imo. (no offense)

Reimer was a/is a back up...Anderson is brought in to be the number 1. because of Bernier's failure last year.
Other than last year, Bernier has been decent and the better of the two goalies the leafs had.

you made clear comparison of Reimer and Andersen - which is equally clearly pointless BECAUSE Andersen will be replacing (THANK GOD) Bernier.

it was Bernier's failure that resulted in the Leafs spending two high picks to acquire Andersen.

whether Bernier was better than Reimer in years previous to 2015/2016 is a matter of opinion.. and yours clearly isn't a unanimously held opinion.

Andersen should, all other things being equal - result in 7-10 more wins than Bernier. Even if Andersen posts a save percentage in 910 - 920 range, but provides some consistency PARTICULARLY at the beginning of games it will be a huge mental/emotional benefit to such a young club.

Bernier has cost the Leafs to acquire, and has cost the Leafs competitiveness since the mid-point of the 2014-2015 IF NOT earlier. Now his piss poor performance has cost the Leafs 2 additional draft picks.... yet you still want to paint him as some type of "great goaltender" during 2013-2015.

I've seen him live in the OHL many times this year (closest i've been to seeing him in person) and he looks bigger than 5'9. I think he's probably close.
