Things change, for the better. He can still be a piece of the puzzle, but it will be as a shutdown guy, killing penalties and blocking shots. My guess, he gets traded.

I honestly think Martin was brought on to shadow Matthews and Marner like Ser Gregor

still on the fence... skill is there now... strength is in question

but he is working out for a minimum of 4 hours a day and spends at least an hour on the ice each day too while working with leaf trainers

hell... his mom even retired to control his diet and meal plan

all I've read about him is how he is an exemplary professional, and a 'good human being' - both of which go quite well with babcock.
team always needs a few veterans, and he's not that old, can still be there for a few years.
Maybe he can even find back a bit of his scoring touch.
At least he's good on the PK as well.

Martin - Laich - ?? seems like a solid 4th line to me.
Maybe get Rychel or Leivo or Soshnikov to play with them.

After current year, Laich might take a 2y/ 2mln/per deal.

yeah... there will be minor adjustments for sure... guys like greening and hyman could rotate in and out of the lineup

i just think they give the guys on expiring contracts playing time in hopes to move them at the deadline
