well we definitely will hear news regarding their RFA's (new contracts, arbitration) all that stuff

but the reality is the Vesey sweeps are probably the next biggest domino to fall and they may not do anything else until they know whether or not they are going to get him

From Greg Wyshynski Puck Daddy Column today, the last sentence is the most interesting one of them all.

They’re quiet. Too quiet.

Keith Yandle was moved so the Panthers could sign him. Michael Grabner and Nathan Gerbe are depth signings and quality ones at that, especially in a conference that suddenly demands hyperspace speed to excel. But the Rangers stayed on the sidelines for the rest of the Frenzy, partially out of necessity: They have to re-sign Chris Kreider, J.T. Miller, Kevin Hayes and Dylan McIlrath as RFAs.

So we’re all waiting for the Big Trade from the Rangers. They’d like it to include the $7.8 million cap hit for Rick Nash, who as a 12-team no-trade list, but have found no takers. There was talk that Derek Stepan was in play, but that hasn’t come to pass.

The Nash, Dan Girardi and Marc Staal contracts continue to be anchors around their collective necks. Frankly, the time is right to trade Henrik Lundqvist, but he has both a love of New York and a full no-move.

They’re going to do something, and it’s going to be fascinating to see what it is.

you know, in 1975 when the Rangers lost Eddie Giacomin, it was exactly the time to get rid of him, he was 36 years they, they had acquired 22 year old John Davidson that summer, he was the 5th overall pick in the draft 2 years before.

But, to this day, it's like the biggest travesty in team history that they let Giacomin go. It's another travesty that they traded 36 year old Brian Leetch, another travesty that they traded Adam Graves.

this fanbase can't come to grips with players leaving, but yeah, lets trade Lundqvist, that one will go over easy
