With Luongo coming off hip surgery, I think they were smart to bring in a 1a type guy to start the year.
He would be a good addition to the Vegas team if they don't move him before the expansion draft. Either way I have a feeling he won't finish the deal in Fla.

Yes I have been a fan since the teams inception. But in the early 2000s they won a cup

I absolutely love watching Florida as my second team in the East. They have done a tremendous job with the franchise and it is definitely going in the right direction. I've never been a fan of people saying that they should be relocated, they have always just needed solid direction like they are going in now. Great crop of awesome young players being led by one of the best of all time. I just hope that the community backs them and they start filling the barn on a nitely basis, that is something that is definitely needed.

* indicates who I believe we will protect in the expansion draft. Jagr will be a UFA and thus cannot be protected. I think we leave Jokinen exposed (and he likely gets plucked by design).Rau is a second year pro and thus is exempt from the selection process. I pick Seviour (sp??) because the team really seems to like him a lot and he's younger and a great 4th line presence. Same goes for Marchessault. I spoke to a few Tampa fans who REALLY like him and were sad to see him go. They said he is going to do great next to Bjugstad. Matheson, like Rau, will be exempt from selection. Petro/Pysyk/Kindl/Kampfer would have to be left exposed. Luongo has a NTC and NOT a NMC, so he does not have to be protected. We signed Reimer to a 5-year deal, he is clearly our next #1 goalie and we will protect him.

This is the 7 forward, 3 defense, 1 goalie option. We could also protect 8 skaters and 1 goaltender.

I thought the term made sense. Mostly since I don't think the Panthers expect to pay him the money. Unless they won't protect Luongo, it seems like a given that Reimer is left exposed in the expansion draft. I can't imagine in that scenario that he wouldn't be one of the guys Vegas takes. Only so many good goalies that will be exposed there.

Know what's cool... even if we do get knocked out in the first round, I can drive 4 hours to go watch Stamkos and his Lightning play. Cause, you know, he stayed in Tampa.

I can tell you guys right now the plan is to let Lu go thru expansion and protect Reimer. Reimer is definitely going to be our 1 guy in a year or two (probably two since I doubt Lu gets picked up by Vegas given his age and salary). Berra is an AHL stop gap until Montembault or Fagerblom are ready to back up in the NHL.
