Todd is probably the best blogger here sing Yost left. Sorry to Whip ect, but Brouwer was a sht move. I understand it, I like the player, the contract is not great. Not terriblr, but not great. He is glowing on the Devils because they have kicked ass this offseason.

Improving upon the League's worst PK and addressing a major size issue was a sh!t move? I disagree. The contract isn't even that bad. Four years is a good term.

Stajan, when playing with plugs, is a plug. He had limited opertunity late in the season to play with actual NHL talent and preformed well. He has always been a great team guy, but also a slightly expensive insurance policy. People talk like he's a useless plug like Bouma.

Todd watches more hockey than pretty much everyone on here. Stats are impartial though... they are what they are. Don't get upset if they don't match your opinion. By all means, discuss the topic, share your point of view... but don't attack the blogger.

I don't think they blogger needs a body guard, or censorship from the thought police. If someone's opinion is that they disagree with the blogger that is an opinion. Unless they are threatening violence, inciting violence or promoting hate, I'm not sure it's beneficial to try shutting them down. Todd has a particular style of covering players and teams, he also leans heavily on analytics, which obviously grinds the gears of quite a few of the people who post in this forum. At the end of the day, nearly all of us appreciate that Todd's blogs encourage discussion , and that they are posted with regularity. I doubt he loses any sleep over dissenting views on his blog.
It's pretty difficult to have a decent discussion without opposing points of view and open minds.
At least Todd's blogs aren't total click bate like Tanner's.
Todd receives bouquets in here most of the time, but bouquets with roses are bound to come with some thorns.

He was a third liner on Chicago. You need to catch up on what he's done since then. The guy got traded for Oshie last year ffs.

Listening to or reading analysis based solely on analytics generally reminds me of a feminist arguing the existence of the wage gap. The data they are spewing is factual, there are lots of statistics that seem to support that position, yet in reality men and women doing exactly the same job, by law have to be paid the same. Regardless what information you present to the contrary, and regardless how true, or realistic the argument; the majority of them are so entrenched in the religion they support that their only response is NOPE, THE STATS I SHOWED YOU ARE ALL THAT MATTERS.

I think you guys missed the point on the "wrong side of 30" comment. Todd isn't saying that Brouwer is old or that he's suddenly going to regress badly. He's saying that we know what we have with him at this point. He's not still developing, so his trends are likely to continue to be how he plays moving forward.

I kind of think you missed the point. By the time players become UFAs, you know what kind of player they are and they're getting paid with the hope that they can keep that up. That's what the hope is with Brouwer and anyone wasting time replying to blogs on here is aware of that. I'm fairly certain he was making a point that he's at the age where he thinks power forwards start to regress.

Don't really see how your explanation equates to a bad move. Getting a player you like to a contract that's not terrible is pretty much the ideal UFA situation.

That's a very unimpressive group of forwards, no matter how badly you Jabronis try to over rate them. On a good team you have maybe 3 top 6 forwards, and that includes the wet behind the eats Bennett.

Flames are in trouble. Have the D in place and yet another backup goalie in Elliott PLUS have not addressed 3rd or 4th line scoring at all.
