He is. I don't believe that he's considered to have played enough. I am however basing this on what I've seen via Twitter and on General Fanager (which is usually pretty accurate but not always). Regardless, we have enough spots to protect him.

Leafs won't protect Bozak, Martin, and Holland for forwards.

As long as it's not from behind into the boards, something that he seemed to really specialize in towards the end of the year...

My guess is they acquire a cheap RFA backup, qualify him and leave him exposed. If he gets taken, fine....replace him with somebody else similar.....and if not, there's your backup goalie for 17/18.

They cannot expose him without consent of the Nhl. Period.

Dozzer may be correct that if they meet the requirement without him then it's moot. But that will be difficult if Lupul is also on LTIR.

As I said previously though it's all up for arguing until the final roster and season actually take place.
