Let young guys develop, give them a shot while the younger guys develop and move out the old injured guys that have had their shot.

Leivo is ready, Brown is ready, Marner is ready, Percy was ready last year but we played Marincin who is probably not any better.

We just give the wrong guys playing time....sometimes.

Forwards should be PPG in the AHL before they're moved up regularly; Leivo has not been that guy at all.

I'm not saying he's a bust, but he didn't look great this year with the Marlies. He did do well in a short stint with the Leafs, so he'll get another look for sure.

Brown will probably make the team out of camp, same with Soshnikov and Hyman.

Marner will probably end up back in Jr after his 8 games unless he goes beast mode this off-season and puts on some weight.

So with Nylander making the club as a given, that's a lot of rookies in the lineup.

This isn't a development league: you can't ice a team of teenagers all year long, night in and night out. Look at what happened to the Oilers: no insulation, no goaltending, no D and half of their young core (Hall, Eberle, RNH, and Yakupov) have been on the trade block at one point or another.

Sosh is great but maybe Leivo should get a shot first while Sosh learns the N.A. game on the Marilies.

Maybe if Carrick got a shot at the right time, he brings in a 2nd for a trade instead of just leaving?

Some combination of the below players will have to get us Trouba because JVR needs to stay. Even if we could get Vesey, nobody knows how he will do, so JVR should still stay another year at least.

Bozak, Bernier, Holland, Lupul, Michalek, Marincin
Sosh, Hyman, Lindberg, Kapanen
Draft picks.

...I really think Reilly/Trouba will make a big difference to this team, even so much so that losing a high pick/prospect could be worth it.

Totally understand your point but Leivo is not a teenager...not even close. I don't think he's been give the right shot....15/20 games.

I not sure Hyman and Sosh will both be looking as good after 20 games as they did for 10.

I don't understand why people don't get this...maybe some of you haven't played sports...but getting passed over does NOT help development. Getting a sniff and then sent back to the bus...does NOT help development. Watching a guy come out of nowhere, pass you in the line up but not out play you....(frank) that.

If you do what they ask as a player you should be given a FAIR shot.

Leivo needs to be better than guys like Michalek, Laich, or Greening. Right now, I don't think he is. It's that simple.

And this ain't rec league: they can pass over you as long as they want and then not qualify you if you're still lingering around after too long. Happens all the time.
