polak got 8mln signing bonus. money was there anyways and since it didn't get spent on stamkos, mngmt decided to spend it on next best in ufa class

I'm a big fan of that game, especially on the forecheck.

There is not one defensemen in the league that doesn't start to rush and make mistakes in their own end after 5 or 10 minutes of getting hit in the corner.

A hard hitting forecheck style team is under utilized and very effective IMO.

Signing polak, not so good.... Signing polak and avoiding Russell horrendous deal is heaven.

Kinda why I said that I would rather Leivo on the wing than Lupul.

We let some of our prospects sit in the minors too long. If they don't get a shot at a certain point....I can see them saying (frank) it, I'm done here.

Let young guys develop, give them a shot while the younger guys develop and move out the old injured guys that have had their shot.

Leivo is ready, Brown is ready, Marner is ready, Percy was ready last year but we played Marincin who is probably not any better.

We just give the wrong guys playing time....sometimes.

Polak 2.5 for a single year, very little risk - obviously Bablord likes the guy otherwise he wouldn't be back.

If Polak's 2.5 causes grief... so be it... would it have been better to sign Luke Schenn for 2 years at 3M + or similar?

I agree with that. Polak, no big deal. Which is why I like Martin too.

We need some toughness somewhere in the line up.
