it's actually a tough call. was last year really his breakout or did he just catch fire for 2 months?

He started to have ice time without Lars Eller...

they already bridged Galchenyuk....same will happen, they will have to pay this time.
- Symba007

yeah it depends though. would he sign long term now at $5-$5.5 million?
because if his productions get up to 70 points this year, you'll be looking at $7 million.

why would he want that? If he has a good season, his value will go up A LOT. If I am his agent, I tell him to wait unless the Habs are ready to pay.
- Symba007

Bergevin should try to avoid another Subban situation with him. Of course his agent might want to wait, but Bergevin should at least try to get something done as soon as possible.

I have no doubt Galchenyuk will be the team's best forward this season.

because it's not easy to say no to $40-$50 million. absolutely nothing is guaranteed for him. he could score 35 goals/70 points. he could get seriously injured. the season could be a trainwreck that he gets caught in...

They'll probably be looking at the Forsberg contract.

Forsberg got 6M per year for 6 years. He has been better than Galchenyuk.
