Over in the Buffalo Buzz-world, the last blog was written about how Buffalo has a 65% chance of signing Vesey because Eichel is his friend. I thought you guys would appreciate my Photoshop response:

So when does it happen ?
Shattenkirk will be wearing Black n Gold next Year, just a matter of what draft pick they give up with Spoons.
They're probably just hoping Sweeney coughs up that 1st.

I read today that the offer sheet they were debating for Trouba was a massive one year contract and because of the length, they wouldnt forfeit picks? Is this true? I found nothing else online saying that was a thing. |

Pretty sure that the offer sheet thing leaked just to try and get the Jets to trade Trouba. I believe that if the offer sheet is above 9.4M or something like that, doesnt matter the term, the team offering it still has to give up 4 first rounders. |

Seriously though. If they pull off the Shattenkirk deal they would almost HAVE to re-sign him immediately and wouldn't they still have room for the offersheet
You assume it'll take Spoons + a pick 2nd (do they have one next year)

I think we unofficially have EDMs 2nd next year because of Chiarelli. Boston and San Jose were the last to be granfathered in before they got rid of executive compensation. So technically, we should have a 2nd.
I would keep an eye on the Barrie contract situation. Shats is likely to get somewhere close to what he is going to get. Not sure what all it will take to get him from the blues, but it sounds like it starts with a 1st rounder (just based on everything I have read). If that is a road Sweeney and the gang are still going down, my guess is the final trade will end up being something along the lines of 1st + Griffith or if they want a D that can play a 1st + Colin Miller. My guess anyways.

I would think Spooner would be in Play, they have 3 centers now locked up for the next 5-years barring trades/injury |

Would make sense unless julien decides he likes backes at wing |

Claude is going to love having a 3C like Backes after having Spooner and Yeti the last 3 years. If Spooner and a 1st gets us a signed Shattenkirk then they better get it done .
There is nothing wrong with rolling into next season with
Chara Shatty
Krug Kevan/McQuaid (gotta trade one)
Liles Colin
Also, I remember Shattenkirk playing the best hockey of his Career when Petro went down and he became the defacto #1. I think this is a guy that will thrive in a #1 role |

Hayes might be the worst hockey player I've had the displeasure of watching. He's gotta go.
If they get Vesey, that top 9 would look ridiculous.
Hopefully Vesey is a huge Backes fan and he want's to come and play with him... or Bergeron... Or Krecji... he really can't go wrong at this point.
So if that happens, is the goal just to win every game like 7-6? I could be down with them putting up some touchdowns. - mixturebill
Hayes reminds me of Hal Gill, All that god given size and no freaking idea how to use it. |

Remember, Julien LOOOOOOVES McQuaid and K. Miller, so Colin will likely be the one who sits.
Do the Blues want spooner? They have three capable centers right now already in Statsny, Lehtera and Fabbri. Not sure Spoons is enticing enough. For the blues anyways. Dont know why, I just have a feeling it will be a winger or a D prospect going the other way with the first rounder.
If it gets done at all. |

Well they did can Seids for Liles... baby steps man. I didnt get the impression Lehtera was a hot commodity this year - Shaundre93
He isn't, which is why the blues keep him. They don't need Spooner.
And I really don't mind baby steps, as long as they are in the right direction |
