....because some stat that some agent invented (shots-bird crap on the ice divided by 2, or some sh*t like that) shows that his client deserves more money. - dcb1
So now who gets the "A"s next year with Nielsen and Okposo gone?
I'm thinking the obvious choices would be 1) Ladd 2) Clutterbuck
Unless Hamonic? |

JT, Ladd, Chimera, Leddy, Boychuk, and Hamonic. That should be some big time leadership. Give me another Wing for JT and move off Bailey or Kulemin. |

Trust me I'm not rioting. I like Ladd, I like Chimira. Just don't like that all our guys wanted a change. We all heard the 7-8 mil. To KO BS, the Frans getting 6-6.5 and Martin 3 to 4 million and they didn't get that.
So now the reason is the Islanders wanted a change ????
That's concerning to me. - nyisles7
Because people on the internet talk out their asses about what they think....like us. ...but some of them post it on a fancy web page that makes you think they actually know something.... the only ones who know what/why are the players, agents and GMs. Everyone else only thinks that they know... |

Now let's hope the new owners will see past the New England fraternity that Wang installed. |

I think that would be a huge upgrade to the team, especially Crappy! |

What I'm trying to say is that we won't win anything by being a nice team. We need to actually want to drive through an opposing player without worrying about their feelings. Exaggeration yes, but when was the last time this team felt like it was willing to pay the price to win? Ladd and chimera bring that |

I would guess that Boychuk would be in line to get a "A" before Clutterbuck. |

That concerns me, too, 7. I hope Snow was paying attention to that, and looks no further than the coaches behind the bench. Other than a short stint with Scott Gordon, these guys have not played for an NHL coach other than Fred Flintstone. Some of them may just have been curious to see what it's like.... - JohnScammo
They offered Martin nothing and okposo nothing so maybe they are saying they are happy to be elsewhere if they felt slighted. As for Frans he wants to play with his hero zetterberg and who knows what other reason. Chimera is a better all around player than Martin and played on a similar line for the caps and he's with better players and makes the line faster. Martin hit alot but other than that he dumped the puck and chased. |

I like Okposo and I like Nielsen but what did this team do with them? What did they do when the chips were on the table?
You're concerned about them leaving? Why? They're both nice players but they just played with a world class player and they really didn't do much. To quote Jim Mora: "Playoffs??!" |

For Christ's sake...if Martin doesn't get away with an obvious trip, we might still be waiting to win a playoff series. I think some of you are having some sort of revionist memories here. |

Okposo will get his points, and I wish him well, but this is not a Todd Bertuzzi situation here. We've seen what he can do (and can't) and at this point I'd rather take my chances with a Ladd type player. |

Hammer gets the "A" before Clutterbuck, I think. But in recognition of his age, Cup, leadership, and long-term contract, I give the "A" to Boychuk. |

I would consider Ladd for the other "A" before Hamonic. I like Hamonic a lot, but don't see him as a leader. Ladd has worn the "C". |

Nope, but to be fair the Caps treated the Isles like female doges in game 7.

Meh Ladd just joining the team, but I guess you could.
Hammer is a great leader, locker room guy.

Watch the goal again. It's embarrassing. Off the wall, no contact made, walked right in. GWG in game 7. I like Nielsen a lot, but that goal was scored way too easily. |

Great leaders don't let their personal problems affect them to the point where they require trades to be closer to home. |

Yup, even Nielsen was embarrassed by his poor D on that play and said so after the game. He was still our best defensive center. |
