Chimera is a nasty wiener who will hold his teammates accountable and can flat out fly. He is who I wanted in the bottom 6 and said so before today. I love adding him to the team and hated watching him when we played the caps. The guy is mean as hell
- Isles_since_6

Yeah. This, pretty much. He poop on the Rangers more than once too. $2 million? Yes, please.

No, you mentioned killing penalties and pp time. Settle the Fock down.
- Isles_since_6

That was in jest, relax
I was actually complimenting Chimira that he got PP time.

6, there were other moves coming aftr Vanek too.
I guess I just don't have faith in Snow.
And really don't like the fact that all 3 of our free agents wanted a change.
We can spin this anyway we want but as much as the Islanders say that wanted a change so did these players and that concerns me, with JT needing to be signed.

- nyisles7

Snow just said he sees himself adding another forward this summer. When has he ever been that forward? He usually says hes done.

Ok yes, but I know what Chimera brings and know what Martin brings, so what's ur question then?

Now...I really don't get what you're getting at.

That concerns me, too, 7. I hope Snow was paying attention to that, and looks no further than the coaches behind the bench. Other than a short stint with Scott Gordon, these guys have not played for an NHL coach other than Fred Flintstone. Some of them may just have been curious to see what it's like....

biggest comparison and why I love adding chimera - martin tries to hold people up when he hits them to avoid hurting them. chimera will NOT do that. He's an bumhole and we're gonna love it.

Grabo is done. Strome is still young. I'm not counting him out. Even though he was inexplicably scratched, he played good in the Florida series.
- potvin05

He was scratched because he sucked last year. It's the same reason he was demoted during the season. There's no sugar-coating it: Strome was awful last year. Given tons of chances and opportunities and he s**t the bed. He's young so he has a chance to turn it around, but he's got a long way to go.

yup, and giving him a sub million dollar one year deal will be the kick in the nuts he needs to either figure it out, or to move on. If he can't get it done next year I think he's moved next summer or left exposed.

Trust me I'm not rioting. I like Ladd, I like Chimira. Just don't like that all our guys wanted a change. We all heard the 7-8 mil. To KO BS, the Frans getting 6-6.5 and Martin 3 to 4 million and they didn't get that.
So now the reason is the Islanders wanted a change ????
That's concerning to me.

You would think the scratching and demotion would be enough to motivate him. We'll see. He's going to get his chances n

So bc Strome has a sophomore slump like some kids do means that he has no chance to be relevant??

I think Stromer will rebound next year Jethro.
I think after the 50 point rookie year, took it for granted and he didn't work hard over the summer and wasn't in the shape he needed to be in and fell behind and never caught up.
I think he's working his ass off this summer and comes into camp ready to go.
Just my gut feeling.

Whatever the reason JS, I don't like it.
Frans was offered more and bolted.

I only heard that Frans left because he wanted a change. Do you know that Kyle or Martin were offered equal or better deals by the Islanders?

True enough but 2 of them they put little to no effort into keeping. If they went balls out to keep all three and they walked, then I'd be concerned. This isn't like the year that Blake and all those other guys bolted.
- PeteM

I agree they did not try on Martin and KO.

Frans was offered more by the Islanders in total. His annualized salary with Detroit will be more.

Really I thought they offered him more years and more annually.
Either way more is more.

And hopefully Ladd and Chimera will kick him and Nelson in the ass as well.

I thought someone here posted the info.... Detroit offered a little more per season, but the Islanders offered an additional year, so the overall $$ were a little higher. Either way, your point is still valid. For such close offers, all that stuff we kept hearing about how much Frans liked it here and was willing to give a hometown discount was just so much BS.

No idea how Chimera is not better than Martin?
- ses111

....because some stat that some agent invented (shots-bird crap on the ice divided by 2, or some sh*t like that) shows that his client deserves more money.
