If I were the Sabres, and flat out ask Vesey the other options he wants to explore. I'd give him permission to speak to them, then tell him he has a week to decide. I'm sure the Sabres want to figure this out before 8/15, as it will likely affect the remainder of their off-season.

If you know the tail number of the plane you can find out real easy. There are a few other, shall we say, nefarious ways as well. Everyone's required to file a flight plan with the FAA. And they make the info public.

It's not really all that different now. They're sliding right back into it. The corruption never went away though. Sure, they're a democracy now, but when your guy gets like 98% of the vote you know there are shenanigans going on.

I'm not saying any of this has to do with Mogilny or Vesey.

Before Vesey the last two Hobey Baker winners are pretty freaking good...Eichel and Johnny Hockey...If Vesey is anywhere near that good and the Sabres sign him they should be a contending team for a long time

There is no point doing that, why give up their exclusive rights, there is no benefit. Very soon they'll know if he wants to be here, if not make him wait until 8/15

I get why they got his rights. We wanted to know his intentions when building the team this summer. We will know before everyone else. It was only a 3rd. I don't think it makes us a joke unless you buy into everyone's story line

Wait a minute, you don't know who Alexander Mogilny is? Look up his stats. As good as the 05-07 teams were, there was nothing like Mogilny and LaFontaine. Maybe the French Connection, but I never seen them play.

Before we traded for his rights - after he stuffed the Preds for free agency and when it would be tampering for either side to state publicly they were interested in each other - Vesey was insisting that he was going to wait until he had the ability to test the market. Then came draft day, and Vesey "narrowed his interest to a few teams including the Sabres." Now, FA day, he's meeting with the Sabres in a face to face.

If you can't see that trend, and why it was presented as it was publicly, I can't help you.

Yeah, When Boris Yeltsin was your best hope to get things on the right track 20 years ago things are bleak. I'm just glad that mother(frank)er was always drunk off his ass, otherwise we probably wouldn't be talking on this board. Instead it would be like real life Fallout.
