If the Oilers manage to flip say Hopkins for Barrie and you look at it like this:

Taylor Hall and Ryan Nuggent-Hopkins for Adam Larsson and Tyson Barrie

Looks a lot better. Not perfect but better. Especailly since you moved the far better player out of conference.

But I hope management hasnt convinced themselves fayne or one of Davidson/nurse is adequate in the 4 rhd spot

It was said at the draft that St. Louis wanted one of Eberle/ Hall for Shattenkirk. It's July 1 so he can renegotiate now. I wonder if they would do Eberle for an extended Shattenkirk? We add a 2nd or 1st? I would do that before trading Nuge.

Long term with puju in the mix, ebs is more dispensable.
But short term- I'd say nuge is for sure

Not to say I wouldn't consider ebs for shats at all.
But moving ebs and putting our right side fortunes in the hands of yaks and a rook is dangerous

We can keep Nuge at center and move Draisaitl to the wing if need be. Lucic/Pouliot/Maroon on LW and Puljujarvi and Draisaitl on RW creates a lot of room out there for McDavid and Nuge down the middle.
