LOL yeah because it's only July 2nd... there's still plenty of time. I do think they add a dman before October.
- MCharisma91

Wait. You're saying there's still several months before the start of next season and there's a chance they still are building this team?

You just know that next year we will be looking for affordable experienced wingers with scoring ability to play with our young up and coming centers ( then pay 6+)
- mr.sir

If they play 70 to 82 games a year ok. If they play 20-30 games a year - not so much.

Hal Gill was amazing on PKs

Jason Blake skated and shot like the wind

Jeff Finger was under utilized and still was a great player

Komi was the Leader Schenn and Dion were supposed to be

Connolly was the only signing recently to actually score

Clarkson was the heart and soul of the Leafs before being traded against his will

What you are saying is probably accurate, but nobody likes a cockroach and Cowen is certainly that. Leafs were honest and upfront with him after he was acquired in the trade. He was told not to practice and stay home and he would be bought out this year. They put him on waivers and he develops a bullshhit injury to avoid being bought out to squeeze more money that he has not earned. He's a cockroach.

You or I would do the exact same thing. There are millions of dollars at stake for a guy with a bad hip who likely will not sign another multi-year deal.

It's a business for everyone, players included.

Agree, there are more mistakes made on July 1 than any other day - including the trade deadline. Glad the Leafs did close to nothing.

Revised plan: Trade Bozak and Gardiner for Duchene. Trade JVR for Dumba. Dump Bernier. Re-evaluate

Did he get the bad hip - playing for the Leafs? If not, Leafs owe him nothing except a kick in the ass with a frozen boot.

One year? There is zero risk in that. Same with Vanek in Detroit. One year deals are awesome. Benefit both player and team.

Less risk on one year deal. If Subban was such poison for the Habs, why would they sign a known head case that received a dishonorable discharge from the NHL?
