Vesey is still bound by standard ELC rules correct? At that price if he wants to sign in Toronto, why not? You can always trade him back to the Preds for a 2nd round pick.

For now it appears that way. But how much better? McDavid is a legend in the making. But who else? Lucic? Draisitl? Eberle? Yak?

How much better is that than Matthews Kadri JVR? Plus they have all their high picks aside from Puljarvi (sp) on the team. Leafs still have Nylander Marner Brown coming.

McDavid makes it look alot better but it's closer than youre saying. Especially when you said leafs have "none".

True. The no assets aspect is appealing. But we have so many questionable forwards already is my concern.

Yes we want Vesey for sure. No Bozak isn't, Jimmy Vesey. Vesey is a Hobey Baker winner, plays left wing and averaged about 1.6 points a game playing for Harvard. Bozak never scored at the same level and played center at the University of Denver. Big difference in these guys, which is why so many teams are after Vesey. It's basically getting a first round draft choice (not top ten, but top twenty) for free. His salary will be entry level - only difference is he will be RFA sooner than other rookies.

team looks pretty good. We were good with or without Stamkos.

The team looks deep at RW which is great. We have a lot of "potential/promise" on the blueline. . I know, not everyone will pan out... but we can always hope for the best. Loov & Valiev look good. Carrick is (frank)ing amazing. Still can't believe we snatched him. Zaitsev still only what, 24-25? That's great for us. Gardiner, as brain dead as he is, still a good QB on the PP. And you can't forget Rielly. Who I still honestly believe will may turn into a good 1D .. maybe not ELITE , but a good 1D.
