One album that I always find my way back to is "Altered state" by Tesseract... just awesome

I try to find death metal or hardcore punk that embodies elements of prog these days. Obligatorisk tortyr is my latest obsession, in that sense. Still unlistenably fast and heavy but they really go off the board on a lot of songs. I don't recommend you look it up unless you want an earful of two dudes screaming their faces off.

Thanks.
Great addition to an area of need.
I think he will fit like a glove here in Leafland.
Would have been even happier at 3 years.
I'm too tired and lazy to list all my fav male vocalists...Matt Bellamy is pretty decent. - Woderwick
In terms of just pure vocals, gotta go with Stevie Wonder though. I'm a sucker for music by guys like him, Bill Withers, etc... essentially the exact opposite of what you'd probably expect

As an aside, while I hate Slipknot, I was really impressed by Corey Taylor... when he's not growling like a rabid possum he's got a pretty awesome voice

I kinda liked the first album, not much after that though.

My likes in music are very diverse for an old guy. Not a metal guy though.
