For a cheapo team that needed D it wasn't that bad. His cap hit is higher than his actual salary going forward and while he's certainly overpaid by a good $2.5M he is at least half decent as a player.

A lot of our rookies are pretty mature, so I'm not worried.. There will be like 30 games where they look like rookies.. Then they'll be fine.

Yup. Lou said at least 50 percent of the roster will be changed. I am pretty confident Lou will get his top 4 d man this offseason. Maybe even a top pairing of he is willing to give up JVR.
