Before the Martin signing most seemed pleased to me.. People now just arguing over a minor signing lol.. We have to debate about something i suppose.

I agree it won't stop things completely, always going to be cheap shots etc. However it can limit it some and when it does happen nice to have some one to make them pay for it.

Yeah I don't really see the issue personally. It won't stop the team from re-signing any of their young players in 1-4 years so it's really not a big deal.

No, my solid point is talking to Pat Morris who understands the lingo and what's entailed with the contract signed with stampkos. The teams have until August 15th to submit the details to the league from July 1st. The NHL and the leagues insurance arbitrators will then determine what's insurable and what isn't. The entire league was fully aware that the stampkos contract would not be insurable......

Nobody protects anyone but themselves. But I don't want a team that at least responds when a star player is (frank)ed with. But no, a tough guy won't protect players from getting (frank) with. Agree there.

It's not the protection thing that I care about. It's the other teams fear thing. They now have to be aware whos on the ice and keep there heads up. Dmen going into the corners now might have to get the pass off faster leading to mistakes. When you don't have to worry about being hit, plays can be set up. If your always worrying that's when (frank) ups happen. Just my opinion thou.
