Martin as a punching bag that runs around and hits a lot (hit counts highly subjective) that played 4th line.

Everyone here hates on the Matt Martin signing... but everyone on the TSN panel have nothing but great things to say... gotta love the saltiness of the so called experts on here.

No more pushing around our guys. How many times have other teams cheap shot our guys, especially Dion ..and nobody did anything. 2.5M isn't bad...i've seen other teams do a lot worse today.

Matt Martin gives the team some grit and throws the body. Lead the league In hits last year....with the smaller forwards the leafs needed someone who will get down right dirty....with Leo and Martin the leafs have a little of that.

Would love to see a deal to bring langeskog to the leafs too....even if it cost us JVR plus plus to land him..

Between manrner, nylander and Matthews....not a lot of grit....we needed a guy like Martin..and for what we paid.....it's a great deal for the Leafs.

I think it's cute so many are angry over such a minor move. Omg 2.5 million. Omg 3rd 4th liner!? We could have signed 4 elite players for 2.5 million!? And how are we going to win the cup next year without that 2.5? We were so close and they blew it!

I'm not saying King and Greene won those Cups on their own.

But the Kings insulated their skilled players with players like Martin, so it can lead to success.

Though I would rather the deal be for less term.

Meh guy just turned 27... He will be 30-31 when it expires. Leafs needed some sand paper imo and Martin fits the bill.
