$4.25 per.

Also on Campbell, I am guessing his deal is $2-2.2mil for 1 year.

- John Jaeckel

Damn. My hope is $1.5-1.99.

Also, let's not anoint Matt Murray as the second coming of...well, anyone. He played 13 RS games and 21 SCP games. Sure he was standing on his head to help win the Cup for the Pens, but lets not forget the great Antti Niemi. He's been average to above average since 2010. Granted Niemi's d corps was better, but still, Murray has a grand total of 34 games.

Can't judge a career based on that. Same with Darling.

Things can change in a phone call but it doesn't look like any last-second deal coming w/Backes & Blues. I'd expect him to hit market.

Add the Flyers among the teams showing interest in Dale Weise

- mrpaulish

This is one team that has never changed their approach to the game since 1970. Weise fits nicely. Size, speed, some skill, knocks people down, knocks people down, knocks people down and shows very good fancy stats.

Hope this happens.

So, the Habs are just trying to get nastier with the additions of Shaw, Weber and Radulov...but not really adding any scoring--which they desperately need.

So did Panarin.
- JRoenick97

Nope. The question on Panarin was his size, but he was NEVER considered soft. I don't see how they add the other guy anyway, no cash. Next.

Speculation has the @CanadiensMTL signing Alex Radulov

- mrpaulish

Good
Removes $ from league cap pool. Helm also took big $ from it.
GM patience this year could result in steals after the dust settles.

Radulov is a great offensive player. They have certainly addressed their scoring. He has scored 20+ goals in every season in the KHL(except one season when he only played 34 games), and scored 26 goals in his last full season in the NHL.

EDIT: Also keep in mind that the KHL seasons are much shorter. Radulov was scoring 20+ goals in only 50 games most seasons.

I don't think he is even eligible to come to the NHL until next season anyway. I just remember worries about Panarin on the smaller ice as well.

When he has received a decent amount of playing time, Darling has shown enough to make you think he has the potential to be a #1. But it is a huge risk, so an excellent goalie coach and very experienced backup (e.g Jonas Enroth) are required.
- RickJ

Well said. ..Darling needs work to be sharp. One of the more amazing things to me about Crow is he can be razor sharp with little or no work.

Actually Can...Murray RARELY stood on his head for the Pens to win the Cup. The Pens badly outskated both TB and San Jose to win the Cup with the OTHER goalie typically keeping their team in the game. He gave up SEVERAL UGLY goals. It's just no one pushed back on him. YES, he did play very well in the Capitals series, but he certainly didn't stand on his head for the Pens to win the Cup...they slaughtered everyone they played (other than D.C.)

Is anyone, other than Q, satisfied going into a potential playoff series with Dallas, St. Louis, or Nashville with a bottom D pairing of a guy who will only play 40 games and can't skate faster than a goalie and a guy with potentially 82 NHL games?

I understand the thought process of shopping TVR, but having #32 on the ice for potentially 7 games against the 3 teams mentioned above is a recipe for disaster.

I would prefer having TVR on the ice instead of #32.

This puzzling idea of trading TvR hangs connected to the possible Campbell signing on top of the Michal Kempny, and upside of Sustav Forsling as a pusj the pace rocket shot possible. He is 20 (not 19 as i saw someone here state) and is not planning to scour all of Rockford for the nearest IKEA for swedish meatballs as he has an agreement to go back and develop in Linköping if the team feels he is not ready. that will be the case for each and every one of the three years of his deal.

So the only think I can imagine with this TvR is the team feels confident
a) the others are decent enough to fill his skates and play,
or
b) a team with a real deficit on the backline is offering a pretty good player for him.

Mayeb a reclamation project who was a #1 pick, or simply a good players with a contract that fits the hawks Cap.

Just remember even if they acquired that 2.5 mil Yakupov contract to expose him to the expansion draft, it still looms a large hit.

and you don't trade away TvR for Anton Lander or some unequal value...

my entire point is you can argue there a re more than a few teams that would like TvR extend his contract and might just might give the Hawks a good return for a undrafted guy they signed for $.
The puzzling part to all of might be how after preaching for a decade "your organization really needs about ten defenseman who can and might be called into service, because of injuries..."
that the hawks would ignore their own philosophy.

so would they launch this "young vet" for a future or a long term prospect?

It is clear there are teams in need, I am just all that sure they have returns that help this present Blackhawk team...

There. I just wasted mor eof my fleeting life on hearsay!

Moving players from their best position (evidenced by where they've played their entire career) is a desperation move and not something that should be designed to start the season (IMO).

Now, if Stan can steal him from Chiarelli and have EDM retain some of Yak's cap, then maybe there's enough cap space to sign Campbell and a 1LW - but that's a big reach.

- EbonyRaptor

Q would disagree as his jamming Dano and TT in at LW showed great results....... Agree, most guys aren't flexible enough to be effective being moved out of position.

The question on Panarin was his size. Pictures started coming about him working out like a beast in the off-season that gave most people an idea he could be tough enough at least. His size was the only question and for what he was signed for a risk WELL worth the move. Shipachyov is also not overly big, but DOES have a reputation of avoiding contact at every chance. His numbers in the KHL ARE very impressive, but I see him more as fools gold as opposed to the Gold that Panarin is. But I get it...because you draw water from the well, may as well take the bucket back and get some more. Panarin is also 5 or 6 years younger.

Exactly. Pitt prevented shots getting to Murray as if he was allergic to rubber. I agree about the Caps series, he looked great. He was average after that and really that's all he needed to be.

Am I correct that both AA and Krug became NMC today? Or at least, they went to much more restricted?

There was talk that Montreal might have been the front runner for Shipachyov. Maybe this is great news for the Hawks that they now sign Radulov. I would love to see Stan sing Shipachyov
- HossBoss

Radulov is a winger and Shipachyov is a center so acquiring Radulov doesn't mean MTL won't still want to acquire Ship unless they can't afford him now.
