Same here, never got enough time to learn the system but if he had he could've been a huge lift at that AAV. I didn't think there could've been a softer Hawks team with less grit that than 2012 team, but here we are with arguably the softest Hawks team since Q has been in town - Assman22

The last people i want to hear female doging about the 3-4 rooks that have to play because there is no cap space to sign better players is anyone in the dressing room.
- vabeachbear
All of this!! Let the 7 man core taking up 72% of the cap space dry their tears with $1,000 dollar bills.
This is the formula, make it work.

Hawks get slammed around every year, and every year someone says it hurts them as a team. It doesn't. They are a possession team. |

I'm not sure I like Soupy coming back, but at least Rundblad is being bought out. - pjm901
If Soupy skates 12 sheltered minutes or less a night I'm okay with it. I hope that Svedberg turns a corner this year and can contribute. |

You guys want toughness? I hear Raffi Torres is looking for a team. The Hawks can even put his locker right next to Hossa. |

You want the D man with the best +/- and 6th best possession numbers last year to skate 12 minutes a night? And SVEDBERG to turn a corner? Okay. |

Campbell will NOT need to play sheltered minutes. Had we had him on the ice in Game 7 against St Lou instead of a kid the Hawks may well have won that game. His role will be reduced from what it was in 2010, but he'll play a part, a huge part. He will drive possession and add another excellent PowerPlay D man to the mix. |

If anyone is getting sheltered minutes its the Gentle Giant, Gustaffson and Rosi. Brian Campbell skated top pair minutes with Aaron Ekblad last year and had a top 5 +/- in the entire NHL. He also had 1st pair possession statistics and was all-around a VERY effective player on a playoff team. I hope Svedberg develops too, but Brian Campbell is the #4Dman on this team and will be getting 18+ minutes a night, IMO. |

My guess is that one of Gustafsson or Svedberg is dealt before the season starts. |

No...they didn't used to... Remember when we had... Buff...Ladd ...Eager...Frasier.... Versteeg..... Bolland....burish....
We played a cycle possession game...and pounded people.... We could play any style hockey we needed to and given period.... |

Can someone explain the exact legal situation with Evander Kane? If he is bought out, would Hawks have interest if the legal process found nothing? Not saying I want him as I need to know more about his legal situation. But he seems a very viable top six guy just based on on ice evaluation. Dont shoot messenger, just inquiring. |

Highly doubtful what with all their other recent PR problems. They are very conscious about their public perception. |

I certainly hope so.

You and I could only wish that it was Wiz.
You have a passion for the game (and of course, the Blackhawks) that very very few can match.
In all seriousness, I'd suggest you reach out directly to Jay Blunk, share your draft info that you've done for years and come right out and say you've loved the Indianhead for over 50 years, you'd like to be able to put your knowledge to work for the team.
I mean, this stuff does happen. But in today's world, my suggestion is to toot your own horn directly in the ear of whoever can actually make a decision like that - or put you directly in touch with whoever does. |

The Hawks have never "pounded" anyone in the 3 cup era. They had some grit back in 2010, but they were consistently out hit. Every game. |

Timofey Mozgov, the defintion of 'average player' gets 4 years, 64 Million in NBA free agency... Steven Stamkos, one of the best in the game, nets 8 years, 68 Million... Man I hate the NBA. |

Jeremy Lin is making $12m a year. So is Steph Curry
Lebron has made ~$169m total from all his NBA contracts. Batum is making $120m over then est 5 years.
TV money is nice to have. I wish the NHL could get a piece of that pie. |

Experts:
Nail Yakupov, what is the complete book on him, I thought he was a highly touted 1st round pick.would he turn a page and find his game maybe under a different situation like here in Chicago or does he fall under the same category as a 1st round disappointment, If he has high end potential and we gave away Tuevo, TVR , you already know what you have, this kid could possibly turn into what he was projected to be leaving that pressure cooker in Edmonton, I make the trade if that is theDeal, TVR for Yak and put him right with 19&88. |

Q is about ready to comedown off the cross, some of these guys are starting to look less favorably at the situation here. Weiss is no Gretzky, but darn it, he is a solid 3rd line winger that right now we would love to have signed, see how we likeSteve Downie instead of Weiss or others because of Q's hardheadness and Bowman stupidity, unlike other Raspberry cocktail ers on this sight, this team is not a playoff team next year. So about January when they are already out of it see how restless the natives get with the front office causing Uncle John to institute "the Q and Bowman "watch along with holding Kane and Toews behinds to the fire. - wonthecup10
Speculation already beginning in Hawk land about a lot of things. It's unfortunate that the NBA has all the money in the world and the NHL is suffering like it is. Parity stinks from our point of view !!! This cap situation is causing a lot of fan regret. Why bother continuing with my season tickets when every darn year the team will digress because of it. If we miss the playoffs next year, I will be considering giving them up after 40 plus years !!! Without major TV revenue, it will continue to slide. |

The NBA is unwatchable until the Conference Finals. Actually, I can't stand the NBA at any point in time. |

To add on to my previous post regarding replacing the possession/cycle game that Toews-Hossa play (because they don't have the F1 necessary to play that style and there isn't that type of F1 LW in the system or on the free agent horizon) - I would rather go with a top-6 of xx-19-88 / 72-15-xx or 72-19-xx / xx-15-88 and then move Hossa down and have a 3rd line of Panik-Kruger-Hossa. Having one of those top-6 options would make carrying a rookie or young player on each of the top two lines more doable. - EbonyRaptor
I like this idea and at least we have a good third. Even better if Krug get some offence going |

That's the formula. 72% of the cap into a 7 man core and wait for scraps that have little to no choice and try and find some useful ones and sign them.

Hopefully that's why they're clearing all this cap space. Saw that the expectation is a little under Tarasenko money. If they sign him for that snatching Panarin away seems less likely |
