There's not a lot of cap space left for Stan to sign a player - and with so little of it the Hawks can't match some of the exaggerated $/term that other teams are offering.

We got Soupy for 1yr/$2M - that's our FA gift.

Key thing for signing with Hawks now is term of contract. Who will accept a 1 year contract. Most of today's deals have been 2+ years. After the frenzy there maybe a winger or center that will take 1 year. Or if a real bargain is out there look for a trading partner that will take Anisimov or Kruger for picks and sign a free agent 2C or 2LW for reasonable money and term.

So all the stupid money getting shat all over the place really makes the Kooga and AA deals look like shrewd signings.

There won't be a lockout because owner are spending too much - no matter how crazy some contracts are, players total salaries are capped at 50% of HRR.

Don't think I said he was a savior. Just some added offensive depth. Calm down.

The D is better, but with impending expansion draft and massive amounts of NMCs TVR is/will be lost.

Teams that miss out on top Fs may outspend Hawks for lower tiered guys/depth guys and this team lost A LOT of that since April.

See what Stan does, but as of now....this team is NOT contender. Massive amount of holes up front and guys slotted way higher then they should be out of necessity.
