I thought I heard a couple days ago that Shipachyov is able to make a move to the NHL after June 30th. If the Hawks could get him at a reasonable price I think it is worth the gamble.

That's what i've heard as well.

No! They can't even get a third for Yakupov and you want to trade two good young players? I don't mind at all taking a shot at Yak, but not for BOTH TvR and Mac.
- kwolf68

Yeah, nevermind, that was dumb. Just looking for someone that can maybe help out at the top 6 and get as much savings as possible.

I agree. I'd love to take a shot at Hudler for cheap. He's got speed and can finish. I think he has something left in the tank. In fact, I want him over McGinn, though I wouldn't cry about McGinn at all, but I think he's going to get paid bigger bucks today.

Little interest in Staal, but for REALLY cheap I'd do it

Vanek can sign somewhere else.

I sure am..thanks!

and still wondering if I EVER saw Yak on the left side whether that apparition of Saad on the right side appeared or not...

- wiz1901

Sarnia had some very good players when Yak was there - guys like Ryan Spooner, Reid Boucher, Brett Ritchie, Connor Murphy and Anthony DeAngelo (who Tampa just traded) when he was only 15. The Sting also had a guy named Sarault who scored a million points and is playing in the ECHL.

#BREAKING - Yakupov talks heating up. PHI/MTL frontrunners per source, hearing Emelin from MTL's end.

Well my take is I think Bowman has done a miserable job managing many of these deals...players are getting HUGE bank PLUS getting NTCs. If I recall no team has given out more.

That all said, I do NOT believe NTCs are totally restrictive. Soupy agreed to be traded to the dregs of the NHL after 2010. I even read (on this board somewhere) where Crawford said he'd "work with the Hawks" if he needed to be traded. So I do believe the players respect the situation and wouldn't be hard asses about it.

Still the restrictive nature of the NTCs does remove tons of flexibility from managing the team the way you may NEED to do so.

- kwolf68

This from the cap guru Stan. Dale was the guy handing out all the cash. Either take the big money, or the NMC, but can't get both. I understand with your stars perhaps getting both, but seems everyone gets one.

I could see McGinn getting at least $4M from someone other than Chicago - I've accepted that, but I can hope!

If the Hawks decide to move a salary and get over $4M in cap, then I think they would try and throw at least $3.5M at McGinn.

Hudler is a solid choice. Staal for cheap is ok, but he was very underwhelming with the Rangers in the playoffs.

So maybe the Emelin deal replaces this "done" deal?

I would think that before the Avs could even consider trading Tyson Barrie to Edmonton for RNH, Colorado HAS to find a new home for “RW”Matt Duchene and his current six million dollar deal

I hope you're right. I really like TVR a lot. His instincts at the position are outstanding and I think he'll eventually become even more of an offensive force as he gains experience.

A rotation of Keith, Ham, Seabs, Soupy, Kempny, TVR, Gus, Rosy (along with Lurch and even Pokka in the wings) is damn impressive. I am just a big believer in stocking up defense....

- kwolf68

Count me as one who likes TVR more than most, especially as a right shot with a cap hit of 825 per through 17/18. ......Hate the thought of no D depth, look at Game 7 vs STL as exhibit A, but if moved we have to see the return.

Hawks must like what they have in house after TVR.

Fair enough Spud. We are all looking and let me be very clear. I WOULD LOVE to get Yak, but word is the Oil are having a time getting anything for him. For once I'd like US to be on the good side of one of these deals. I'd give Oil ONE of the younger guys, but they EAT salary regardless. In no way do they get both TVR and McNell, that is unless they ate ALL of Yak's salary, which isn't happening.

The thing about McNell, it seems the belief is he was on the out and I was absolutely sure he would be traded, even when he signed his QO, but there he is still here. Perhaps the Hawks believe he is ready and the extra time in Rock was basically "over seasoning" the way the Wings used to do it.

I think McNell is part of the vision.

It looks like they are very high on Pokka now. And I really like TVR as well. He has very good on ice IQ and knows where to put himself. He is also very good on when he pinches down into the play.

There's been conflicting reports about whether he's actually able to leave the KHL. Some folks said that he could only to have others knock that down.

Another reason I think we need to keep this D depth is to help 2 and 7. Reduce their minutes, keep them fresh for when the big show starts. Having the ability to play a LEGIT third pairing is a key to that. And while I DO LIKE Kempny from what I saw, we still don't quite know yet. However, with Soupy and Kempny in Chicago our PowerPlay just got a JOLT. Both those guys can run a PowerPlay and Kempny has a great shot. Just keep our kid TVR.

I like TVR when he's not on his off side. He shows a lot of poise for a young guy. Does everything he's asked.

People were concerned about Panarin being too small and look how strong he is. Shipachyov is slightly bigger and can play physical i've seen it in person. Also he didn't exactly have to be a physical force when he had Panarin and Dadonov on his wings. That line was special.
- Dabearshawks

Not that I'm in on this Ship thing but has he played on a smaller surface?

I agree. TVR is a very, very good value to the team. They better get something good in return to move him. Not to move him just so Rozy can be the interpreter for Kempny
