Did McNeill sign his QO?

If so what about TVR and McNeill to Edmonton for Yak and they retain $1M?

I don't feel like McNeill will get a shot here and from what I have read Edmonton like him. Would this be about right? Too much?

I take it that your aren't a big fan of Herman!

Softest huge guy I've seen in a long time. Can't win a board battle to save his life. I'd honestly fight him and he's 6'7.

Saying look for a F around $2mill and last two can be a Rook with a max of $925k each

No! They can't even get a third for Yakupov and you want to trade two good young players? I don't mind at all taking a shot at Yak, but not for BOTH TvR and Mac.

I'm confused with reports of UFAs signing before 11am EST - am I just being too literal and they haven't ACTUALLY signed yet but the insiders KNOW they will?

if Soupy get 2 mil as reported Yakupov eats a lot of Cap and you just paid the dollars out fro promise not production, or a displayed level of pro hockey IQ while on the sheet...

People were concerned about Panarin being too small and look how strong he is. Shipachyov is slightly bigger and can play physical i've seen it in person. Also he didn't exactly have to be a physical force when he had Panarin and Dadonov on his wings opposing teams that line was special.
- Dabearshawks

I thought I heard a couple days ago that Shipachyov is able to make a move to the NHL after June 30th. If the Hawks could get him at a reasonable price I think it is worth the gamble.

2 million is that "golden salary" where vets who want to take another ride/run will sign. B-Rich did it, Soupy looks like he's doing it. If we have 2 million in tow then there may be another guy like this who wants to give it one more go.

Brouwer to Calgary.

That fills a real need there.

Me too. Would be a terrible signing. Hawks don't need to decrease the speed of their team. He IN NO WAY fits among either the top two lines even if you moved Panarin to Toews line.

it sounds like it all the terms have been agreed to and it's a handshake agreement. But it also sounds like anybody can swoop in with a bigger offer and make an official after noon

Hudler is a way better option. But Toews/Hossa need a guy with size and speed.

You gotta love what Helm brings but as you say he is a depth guy, maybe a middle six at best, and you always have to worry if he can stay healthy.
- Mr Ricochet

Oh absolutely. Solid depth player, uses his speed to drive possession and be a pest. Would love him at short term and reasonable cap hit. Health, as you say, is a huge issue with him especially as he's cresting 30 and that speed won't last forever.

I agree. I'd love to take a shot at Hudler for cheap. He's got speed and can finish. I think he has something left in the tank. In fact, I want him over McGinn, though I wouldn't cry about McGinn at all, but I think he's going to get paid bigger bucks today.

Little interest in Staal, but for REALLY cheap I'd do it

Vanek can sign somewhere else.

Yup, we were discussing him and his ridiculous new contract that is neither a reasonable cap hit nor a short term.
