The thought of playing with Jack Eichel and the Sabres is apparently growing on Jimmy Vesey.

After previously being steadfast in their desire to test unrestricted free agency Aug. 15, Vesey’s representatives are now open to talking with Buffalo about signing a contract.

“We hope to meet with Buffalo in the near future and are open to anything,” Peter Fish said Friday in an email to The Buffalo News.

Vesey, the collegiate award winner acquired last month, would fill a big need at left wing on the Sabres’ top two lines. Vesey, who plays with his friend Eichel in a summer league, won the Hobey Baker Award this year after recording 24 goals and 46 points in 33 games with Harvard.
