It would be nice if Raffl and Weise could play with Cousins. I think that gives him his best chance for success. I think he does need someone with a little size on his wing and while I don't think he looked out of place defensively most of the time, I do think Raffl would help him more than Laughton would

The way I laid these out I'm looking for the best fit on each line.

Giroux, Schenn & Simmonds was capable last year. Hoping they can pick up right off the bat.

Couturier and Voracek can drive possession and hopefully Laughton can click with them as a guy along the boards and setting up down low.

For the third line, I'm going with how Hakstol used Cousins and Hextall's remarks today about Weise being a top 9 forward. Raffl is good at driving possession himself and Cousins and Weise bring feisty and nasty to the mix.

For the 4th line, my hope is that these two can use that speed to get possession after a Gordon faceoff win and start a breakout. Both are capable defensive players and have speed. I like Bellemare better on LW than C, with less responsibility to start the rush, too.

I expect Voracek to score more, Giroux even. I expect Couturier to provide 15-20 goals. I think Laughton will be better. Same for Raffl and Cousins. Weise should be good for 10-15 goals.

Even without Konecny they can have a solid group:

Schenn-Giroux-Simmonds
Laughton-Couturier-Voracek
Raffl-Cousins-Weise
Bellemare-Gordon-Read
VDV-Weal

You can obviously juggle that, and if Konecny forces his way onto the roster, even better.

Pretty solid looking lineup. Schenn & Voracek and Read & Bellemare could swap wings without much trouble.

And really, they didn't give Weise 2.35 million AAV to play on the fourth line. I just hope he rewards them for their faith

I think that's just expecting too much on a nightly basis from Raffl -- it would be awesome if he was a more consistent scorer, but he just isn't a naturally gifted shooter and the need someone on that line to put the biscuit in the basket

I really think that he is a much better player when he isn't counted on to score -- he will score some, of course (before somebody takes my freaking head off)

Do yourself a favor. Get thine ass to 32nd and Camelback to Delux. Best hamburgers in the world. Got engaged there many years ago.

Balance throughout the lineup is what is needed. It's nice to have a player that can be effective on pretty much any line you want to play him on. I don't think he's an ideal top line player, but he can contribute in that situation. Whatever makes the Flyers a stronger team.

You'll need to go twice. Once for the Delux burger, once for the standard burger. Both amazing.

Tampa is (frank)ing set. They struck gold with those contracts. They will be relevant for another 8 years easy. God damn no income tax in Florida I swear it will bring them multiple cups

I would rather have Smith-Pelley or our own Ryan White.

They definitely gave themselves the best chance to do it with the core they have

I read Hedman's quotes. He said it was important to him that they stayed together, after Stamkos stayed put. Said they've played together for seven years and that he wants to win with him

White takes a lot more undisciplined penalties than Weise. For a guy who brings physical play, Weise spends little time in the box
