For everyone that gets pissed at who we didn't sign or why we paid X for so and so, lets remember something.....

We got Weise for 2.whatever because HE wanted to come here for that price. This isn;t a trade where the player must come here. It's a negotiation where the player has all the power.

Sure, Purcell went to LA for 1.5ish. But maybe hextall offered him 2.5 and the PLAYER SAID NO because he liked the opportunity/usage/line mates in LA...or how close he thinks they are to the cup.

So bash away on management for "overpaying" or "not getting player X at that price which is way better than what they did get".
But remember that for all we know, Hexy offered all of them the same deal or better (maybe worse depending on your perspective) and the player told him no.

I'm really not annoyed like I was this morning over Weise. We were in all likelihood going to lose Cousins or Raffl to expansion. This is a proactive move to ensure we're not left with a hole on the roster. Should Vegas take another player it's still got to be viewed as a win because it will be a minimal loss in comparison to the rest of the league. Good move.

I won't bother getting worked up over Gordon. Those guys come and go on every team but it's still a franchise necessity none the less.

In my opinion, the expansion draft had nothing to do with Hextall making this move. This move was about adding a good all around forward, who skates well, can chip in some offense, and can move up and down the lineup if needed.

I think Gordon, although not special as an individual player, was an important signing.

That's silly. Maybe on this team I suppose but he's ideally a 3/4th liner. Roster is starting to round out. It really would be great if our big money guys can be dominant for long stretches.

I like him on a line with Konecny and Giroux. Opens up space with the way he plays and hes got above average wheels. Konecny only player besides Voracek that we have that even comes close to G's skill level. He's going to make the team IMO.

He can play with skilled players and produce. I can't come up with another line mate besides Voracek to play with Giroux. IMO, Voracek needs to be with Couturier.

Your guess is as good as mine. I imagine Schultz will be attractive at TDL as well as Streit if we eat some of his cap hit. Another move has to force that though. Either from a trade, Morin or another D forcing his way onto the team, or the Flyers just being lousy overall. I wouldn't trade anyone on the roster right now except Manning, but I can't imagine theres a huge market for him that warrants us even moving him.

It would be nice if Raffl and Weise could play with Cousins. I think that gives him his best chance for success. I think he does need someone with a little size on his wing and while I don't think he looked out of place defensively most of the time, I do think Raffl would help him more than Laughton would
