I don't see the point. It's still about two years before we'd be making any sort of deep run and right now he's at the end of the road after falling off a cliff. I'd rather let a kid development in that roster spot.

I think the roster sets up nicely for konency to earn a spot in training camp. He needs to be in the top 6. Hakstol can move forwards like raffl and Weise up in late game situations for him when protecting a lead late.

I see the NYRs picked up Gerbe and Grabner

they can play on a line with Zucarello and have an All Shire Line

Shipachyov definitely not coming over per most recent 30 thoughts by Elliote Friedman.

Dadonov I haven't heard anything about, but I don't know that he intrigues me all that much.

Then I guess we will continue to struggle to score because two way goal scorer's don't grow on tree's.. and if we're going to hold our breath until someone like that becomes available for a price that fits into our cap space we will be holding our breath for a long time.

Not saying I love Vanek but when shopping for budget goal scoring you take what you can get.

Yeah, they may struggle to score this year. It's a retooling process. It might take a couple years. In the short term, why not see if you have a kid on a cheap ELC can score?

They might not struggle, either. What if last year was the first real breakout year for Schenn? Voracek isn't likely to shoot 5% again-right there is 10-15 more goals by it's own self. Giroux should be fully healthy. Couturier was scoring at a 50 point pace. Laughton could make strides. Raffl could rebound with another 15-20 goal season.

And if they do struggle, so what? This is a retooling team. Progress isn't always linear

We got Weise for 2.whatever because HE wanted to come here for that price. This isn;t a trade where the player must come here. It's a negotiation where the player has all the power.

Sure, Purcell went to LA for 1.5ish. But maybe hextall offered him 2.5 and the PLAYER SAID NO because he liked the opportunity/usage/line mates in LA...or how close he thinks they are to the cup.

So bash away on management for "overpaying" or "not getting player X at that price which is way better than what they did get".
But remember that for all we know, Hexy offered all of them the same deal or better (maybe worse depending on your perspective) and the player told him no.

Read and raffl could each pot 20 as well
depending on how guys do, they could be anywhere between 5th and 10th this year.
