Not trying to speak for everyone....but that is exactly what we are wondering
Hopefully he spends his time showing AHL guys how to win faceoffs - YuenglingJagr
You can't question anything on here -- what the hell? It's not like the guy won the Selke last year, you know? He got buried.
Can that not be said just because the Flyers signed him?

Buried in DZ starts.
I don't need you to tell me anything -- I watched him play. Edmonton traded him because they didn't think he could handle those minutes, and by the eye test and the metrics, he didn't
It's a team sport, I'll give you that. But he owns his portion of getting caved in, too -- he was a factor in it - AllInForFlyers
So Gordon was "caved in" because his Corsi Rel was -3.3% with 25% OZ starts.
Meahwhile, the Hak like, Laughton and Umberger were all around that number with 50%+ OZ starts.

Great job today by Hextall in upgrading a bottom six that got their ass handed to them in 15-16. |

What is the basis for that wondering? That's the real issue. - MJL

Dale Weise's contract with #Flyers pays him $2.75M next season, $2.55M in 2017-18, $2.35M in '18-19 and $1.75M in '19-20. Boyd Gordon $950K. |

Hexy knows how to make contracts.
Remember, Homer. You don't have to pay players the most in their last years when the idea is to make them tradeable. |

He's better defensively than any one in the bottom 6, which is why Hextall signed him. |

It doesn't have to be an extreme -- he could just be out there for the draws, not do much else
They're gonna play somebody for 82 games. Hopefully he is able to help them |

He frontloaded the contracts of Briere and Bryz and Vinny and Giroux, and had Streit's effective salary drop to $2m this year. |

You can protect 7 forwards. Both Laughton and Raffl could be protected. - MJL
I hope both show this year that they are worthy of being on that list. |

He's been around a while...teams keep giving him $.... He is a serviceable guy....lets just wait and see.
Edit: not that either signing excites me. |

that is correct.
I was wondering what the status of Laughton and Cousins will be at that point |

I'm upset we didn't value Ryan White. Solid faceoff man even though he was a winger. One of very few tough and gritty players on this team. He was sadly also the most threatening offensive player on the 4th line.
I would have kept him. Good teammate, worked hard, took less 2 years in a row to be here. |

He should be happy he got a deal on Day 1...I liked how he competes but I don't know why anyone would tel him he has a lot of leverage on the open market, if that was the advice he was given |

and how is time accrued calculated? does AHL time count? and if not, why not bury someone like cousins for a year so you don't have to protect him? |
