I can't read that one...let's put it this way. My memory isn't recalling too many straight AHL signings on Day 1, but I assume it does happen

I don't have a problem with the Weise signing. Remember, the Flyers are going to lose somebody in the expansion draft next summer. This is not the summer to bring in a great forward that pushes our other good forwards down the depth chart and leaving one of them unprotected. Weise will be unprotected and could end up being the player that gets taken. It's not like there's going to be a good defenseman to grab from the Flyers.

I don't know about you but tossing 5 or 6 mil at secondary players wouldn't make me feel any better than signing Weisse.

it will be interesting to see if the Stempniak of last year shows up this year or the guy who basically averaged 30 points the last 3-4 seasons. he picked the perfect time to have a 20 goal season. he is also 33.
