I think the only way you see something of substance is if he finds a way to move for a under 30 top pair D man then flip a d prospect for scoring help.
Other than that, I would like a show me contract for a former skilled guy.
Vanek, gerber. Hell, even seminar at the minimum is worth a shot

id take a shot on vanek, i assume u mean gerbe and semin, ive always been intrigued by semin. his first year in carolina was a pretty good one, than he got uninterested it seemed. id take a flyer on vanek for no more than 2 mil a year and grabner the same. adding 6.25 to the cap this year, bringing your space down to 5.65. sign schenn for 5 x 5. and hopefully move out a streit, amac, schultz, read, etc.

See, here's the thing about today. Every time we sign or draft or trade for someone, there are some who are adamant it will be good, and some who disagree, and we fight about it.

But as always, sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't.

Mark Streit has worked out.
MDZ has worked out well.

Andrew MacDonald was in the AHL last fall and might be there again this fall.

R.J. Umberger was bought out.
Wheels was demoted, scratched and traded.
So on and so forth.

Dale Weise...I don't think he sees four years in Philadelphia. But maybe he will.

But just because some say he will, or won't, doesn't mean anyone knows today

Trust me, I know. But you know how it is here. The same week they buy out Umberger, we have people talking like there's no way the same GM could misfire on Dale Weise

And that isn't me saying I don't like what Hextall has done overall. Because I do

I just hope that Weise isn't a misfire, because I think they paid too much and gave too much term

So it would be better for all involved if I am wrong

Grabner at 2 x $1.65m is good value for NYR.

I would have taken him at that price. Then VdV can go to the AHL where he belongs.
