Radulov will be donating $10M to the Children's hospital and visiting daily

Radulov will be neck deep in wussy and booze 2 hours before game time. Every game.

It's a pretty solid deal. I'd rather pay Staal a mil more per for a year less. Even if he's not the Staal of old, he has good underlying stats and is a very good middle 6/3rd line guy.
- Mononoke

Exactly. I would have been fine with 3 years $12M for Staal. He could slide into 3rd line C and give the team a great top 9.

Bill tweeted the Wiese contract is an overpayment.
Stamkos took a discount to sign with the Lightnining, Suter, and Parise took less money to sign in Minnesota.

Who are the players who took less money to sign with Philadelphia? Other than Andrew MacDonald of course.

- PLindbergh31

Suter and Parise got $100m guaranteed.

They traded for him thinking he was a late bloomer who would score, based off his production in the top 6. Not at at Kane rate, a Hossa rate. But they acquired him to contribute offensively, and he simply didn't.

Ladd didn't either, at the expected rate. But they acquired both of them to score and provide physical presence and size.

It's ok to say that Weise didn't get the job done in Chciago. He overachieved in MTL, didn't do much of anything in Chicago. Both of those statements are true

- AllInForFlyers

youre gonna tell me the chicago blackhawks brass thought dale weise would score at a hossa rate?

I liked the idea of short term deal at $3.5m for EStaal, but I think he'll get more/better minutes in Minnesota.

Their articles about not liking the 1st round trade and passing on Gauthier were just awful.

is anyone else wondering how the philly beat writers get their jobs with the nonsensical poop they tweet on a regular basis?

I bet Bobby Ryan would take less money to play here.

DID YOU KNOW HE WAS FROM CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY?

It's true -- if they tell him he's 2C or something, we can't top that. But 2LW/3C was an option.

No. That's a secondary clause, like saying "Scorers like a Stamkos, a Hall, an Ovechkin."

His forechecking ability probably played as big (if not bigger) a role as he offensive ability.
- jak521

Which is kind of the point with a guy like that. Hey, as long as he takes fewer stupid penalties than White did, I'm cool with the signing.

Decided to finally join today after reading Bill's posts for a while. Best writer on here without a doubt.

What's the feelings on taking chances on signing Vanek and Grabner to show me deals, if the prices are right? I'm just imagining putting them on a line with Raffl and forming an Austrian trio

But it may just be the fact that my family is from there clouding my thoughts

We still really could use a 3/4 line center cheap.

Like Marchessault.
