They played him 9:01 of average icet ime at ES in the regular season, without PP time, and 8:05 of average ice time in the playoffs at ES without PP time. They didn't get him because of his scoring. He was brought in as a depth role player. - MJL
No. I live there. They thought he would score on the third line. That's why they got him. Quenneville wouldn't play him very much because he didn't know they system and he doesn't really trust players he hasn't had very much, and they had center issues with Kruger hurt
They got him to score, because Hossa was having a miserable season and they didn't have enough offense. He just didn't score for them, and Quenneville used him less |

If the Weise deal was 3 years, I'd be ok with it. If it was 2 years, I'd be satisfied. I worry that his game will begin to decline - PhillySportsGuy
It could easily be a 3 year deal. If he remains the same player, you don't think they could move Weise with one year left on his deal if they need to? Every player, is at risk for decline. I think we have to look at what kind of player he is. |

can anyone elaborate on Michel Therriens system compared to Joel Quenneville's system, also then compared to Haks? A system like Haks could benefit a guy like Weise |

youre saying empathically that Dale Weise cant score 30 points in a third line capacity. Matt read almost put up 30 points in 3rd line capacity while being a healthy scratch, playing the least amount of minutes in his life, and is 2 years older. - sjk540
And I feel totally comfortable saying it. It's not like he's hit 30 points before

Hexy seemed pretty adamant about waiting a week. He bit at noon. At least it was a dainty bite and not an Old Country Buffet chow down like all the other moronic GMs. |

I don't care where you live. I don't doubt they were hoping that he could chip in offensively, but you don't trade for or sign a player like Weise based on offensive production as the main focus. Nor do you judge him solely on offensive production. |

thats true but really, had 26 points in 56 games last year for Montreal, and it just didnt work out in chicago. he plays anywhere near a full season, he will get 30.
