Bill,
Colton Scevoiur.
Any interest in a possible bottom 6 type? He and Massuchalt are my top 2 - J35Bacher
Absolutely. Liked him in Dallas.
Actually, a player in the Dallas system whom I'd personally like to see the Flyers pursue is Brett Ritchie. Heavy game, a bit of scoring upside, and still young. But the Stars still like him. |

That would be nice. I know it's probably unfair given his age and lack of development time in the bigs, but I know I gloss over Laughton and what he might bring to the Flyers this season. But there's no doubt the potential is there. Hopefully he's ready to take the next step in his pro development. - wolfhounds
Laughton-Couturier-Voracek would be an interesting second line, and then Raffl could prop up the 3rd line. |

I like him for 2 reasons...I have seen him play a little and Flyers fans would be so confused when people keep talking about Ritchie |

Considering you've talked to the player....lol....can't disagree with that. I just thought out of the gate he was easily the best d man we had "with the puck" ...and to me that's a guy you can work with. I'm fine with patience....I'm like everyone else here....I want them to be successful ...today. I think in some cases they are too patient. My take on Ghost might be different if the Flyers had a solid d core. I do somewhat disagree with the notion that those 14 games had anything to do with his success up in Philly...but hey I'm not going to disagree that the kid had success after looking at how it went down....it is a forum to talk hockey. - landros 2
It would be a huge mistake to consider the team need, when determining how to handle the development of a young player. That really shouldn't be a factor. When the player is ready, he's ready. |

What about hockey talk sprinkled in with robust discussions about the NBA, MLB, music, food, cars, women, and NJ towns? |

Not really, no. He has a 29.6% percentage in shootouts. - bmeltzer
My mistake. I may be getting mixed up with Grabovsk and some of his flashy shootout goals. I've always Confused the two in previous years. Idk why |

just saw Rubstov signed with his KHL team on twitter, guys name looks international enough, is this true? thoyught he had a contract - sjk540
He did. Really, all it means is that Vityaz exercised their KHL option on him as expected. Even on loan to the Russian national team, he was a Yityaz affiliated player and they held his contractual option through 2017-18. The player doesn't really have a say in the matter.

Lots of factors go into players making a team. I certainly don't think it hurt him going back. I think if a player like Provorov shows that he's NHL ready then he should be in the NHL. The problem is that it's not always easy to determine that in the pre season and in training camp. I think the damage done to a player who is promoted to the NHL too early, can be far more detrimental to a player, then sending a player back for another year of juniors. - MJL
As Bill said Hextall doesn't like the 9 game tryout....but that may be the only way in Provorovs case to tell....maybe he will show in camp he's not ready...it might not....I mean if a kid all of a sudden falls off the cliff in December then so be it...back to jr he goes....yes you blow a year on his ELC ...but you always protect the player....

Is there a buy out fee ? That the player or the Flyers could pay to get him to North America or are Flyers comfortable with his situation there ? |

Streit is the type of player that would fetch a 1st or maybe two 2nds at the TDL when teams are desperate to add pieces for a playoff run. Just look at the hauls from Kimmo, Coby, and Grossmann. I wouldn't retain any of Streit's salary unless I was getting something back thats better than those picks. - moylander
He certainly is a guy we can move at deadline, but we all assumed that was the blueprint for last season and the deadline and he unfortunately had pubic plate injury which he never seemed to recover fully from. Not saying he won't rebound, but with his age and last season, I'd rather move him sooner than later. |

yeah im for this...no sense keeping them underwater. unless a team is up against the cap in a year where they are pushing for a cup...it wont matter too much. there are other ways to get creative |

My only comment on this is...if a player is good enough to beat out a current roster player yet isn't ready for the NHL...what does that say about the current roster player ? |

When training camp breaks and you still can't decide and need more games to see, easy decision. Send him back to juniors

Yeah, even guys who make the jump and don't look out of place initially can still end up stunted.

Any interest in Gaustad for the fourth line to take FO? Best FO man on the market and can kill penalties and is one BIG mo fo. His last contract was stupid so he would need to take a cut and be no more then a year. Of course he looks in decline and his skating has always been so so. |
