I don't understand people complain about what hextall has done, or I guess not done.
This is a bubble team.
Even if you signed one of the top 10 free agents.
It's not their time yet.
In a year or two, yes weise will still be there. But that's ok because all.of those other bottom six guys will be gone by then.
I would rather have the cap space available in 2 years to get that FA scorer or whatever that they need to take a big playoff step than go get somebody now that makes them a better bubble team and is older and over paid in 2 years.
People gotta pe patient |

Thanks Bill. I don't care for the Weise signing. He's at the end of his career, and you sign him for 4 years, blah. The Flyers are obsessed with guys that have size, but don't bring much else to the table. In addition, they like to sign guys past their prime. I would have stuck with McD on wing, dumped White, and stayed away from Weise. Thus, you have some cap room, and not just sign a guy to sign a guy. If he had signed a two year deal at 2 million, that's one thing, but 4 years is just too much in my book. Is he going to end up with the other McD in LHV? Ok, so I guess we have to take the good, with the bad, and ugly. Stick to the plan Hexy, and stay with the kids. Now, if we get rid of the other McD, or his NYI buddy, then it could make things less painful. Just sayin'. - OrangeAndBlack1
Your ancient ass is probably close to death if 28 is close to the end of Weise's career. |

All very good points.
Just sucks that Giroux may have dementia by the time they are ready to make a true push.

Meile is a tiny points machine in the AHL.

Well all my crying over DeBrincat and Abramov being passed up in the draft have been answered
Seriously, though, never a bad thing to have scoring for the Phantoms. We need to build a winning culture down there. |

Why is Weise at the end of his career? He's 28 years old. Do you honestly think Hextall signed a guy just because he has size, and brings nothing else, rather than bring up the obvious better choice in MacDonald? Weise is an NHL player. MacDonald is an AHL player, who you can call up for an injury replacement. - MJL
i was just gonna say, hes only 28 years old. the only players who are 28 and over a career are running backs, and theyd still have a year or two |

IF we did trade for Shattenkirk, would that lead to another deal with a top level D prospect being traded for an offensive forward? |

i feel like with a few more tweaks we could be a 100 point team. think were closer to a perennial playoff threat than a bubble team |

Who knows.
I could see Schenn to Winnipeg possible, likely as a package with Trouba coming the other way.
I just don't want to see Morin moved. Hate to see his name put out there. |
