I have said nothing inaccurate. Percy failed in Toronto ... only 12 games for the Loafs. So what did I say that was inaccurate? The fact he couldn't find himself in a lineup in Toronto is telling, especially with that blueline.

I don't care if he's a full time NHLer or not. All I care about is if he can provide organizational depth and not sink when called up when injuries hit like Warsofsky did for us last year.

Yeah and so was Erixon, and where is he now? Oh wait.
- Reverend Killtaker

He is still an AHL player and probably 10th on the Penguins depth chart?

Listen, I don't care if they have 2000 NHL games or 15. You asked who Percy was and I answered. If he can show something to provide depth, then it was a great sign for the Pens. Percy was once viewed as an NHL guy. Right now, he is a guy destined to help WBS more than Pittsburgh.

Reiley, Gardner, Marincin, Hunwick, Robidas, Brennan, Loov, Corrado, Polack(half the year), Harrington all ahead of him and he still has 24 points in 58 games for the Marlies, the team with the best record in the AHL. So you look up his basic stats and thats all you have to go by and it's already not going to work and he's no good because you say so. Toronto had to get rid of some contracts, they were carrying 50 and you can't have any more than that, there was going to be casualties. I think it's a great pick up and he's at least as good as Harrington.

Don't know if anybody has said this, but the best FA deal of the day was Campbell. That says a lot about the insanity of some of these deals. Like the Grabner low risk contract too.

So is this good or bad for Boedker to be one of the last good players left to sign?
- sammy87

Bad....if I had to guess...hes mulling multiple offers based on term...because he's getting at absolute minimum $4M

There is a slim chance he'd take a one year deal and inflate this value.

Sometimes headaches aren't worth it. Kane might be talented, and his contract might be reasonable, but all the bs you have to put up with him on the roster doesn't make it worth it.
- Oneonta Penguin

But as a fan, when I turn on my TV to the Penguins game and see Kane skating around and forechecking with Sid....I don't really care about the headaches #sorrynotsorry

Neal was a problem ON the ice...which was much more annoying to me as a fan. Do you really think anyone gave two poops about the Patrick Kane situation after about 10 games into last season?

Players like that can destroy a locker room.
- sammy87

Just like Kessel? Just like P. Kane? Yeah...they destroyed the locker room and their teams totally couldnt win cups.

There are only two good names on the list you provided. Number 3-12 are interchangeble to me. A lot of garbage. Marincin isn't good; Hunwick isn't good ... Sorry, we disagree again. You can't sell me on those names, absent the first two as reasons why he is blocked. Yes, they needed to pare contracts. This is what happens when you collect draft picks for years. You need to discard.

We will see if he shows something in a competent organization. Maybe he lives up to his junior press clippings. If he goes, great. It's a no risk signing. However, again I call a spade a spade.

I care about having a team on the ice I can cheer for. One's with high character. Neal was a problem ON THE ICE. Big difference. Sorry, not interested in players that have been accused of sexual assault and all the bs that Evander Kane brings. Both are turds. That is a big difference between me and you. With you, it doesn't matter with the problems one creates off the ice (sexual assault allegations and others), as long as they are good players, you overlook all the other bs involved. I don't. Sorry, totally disagree with your stance.

I cant believe Im saying this but Matt Martin for $2.5/year realy isnt bad. I hated playing against that guy and he was part of a really productive 4th line. At the same cost as Fehr, I'd take Martin.

P Kane sounded more like a bad decision to hang with a college chic that decided to cash in after a 1 night stand. It does seem like he's an alcoholic.

Kessel....TOR is just a mess. Their fans and media are more of a problem.

But yeah if a dude is a cancer, he can wreck a team.

I gave up on the NFL a long time ago. Lots of other things Id rather do than spend 4 hrs of a Sunday watching criminals get paid millions to play a game.

It's all good. Do you root for Big Ben?

Unfortunately, I've had a first hand experience with sexual assault. It's sad but there are certainly women out there that come on to an athlete and then try to make an assault claim and get money (or just get famous). I'm not a judge or a jury and I certainly dont have all the facts, but unless the allegations are proven true...I refuse to indict the player for it. Overall, Kane seems like a bit of a douche but at the moment its just allegations.

I hope you don't take it the wrong way....sexual assault is very serious and those people should be punished to the max. Just saying theres a lot of false or exaggerated allegations.

Don't make me out to be an bumhole here. I have extreme sympathy for those victims. But was he eventually charged for anything? No. Is it possible these pro sports leagues help cover up? Yes. Is it possible the claim was false? Yes. It's muddy water, innocent until proven guilty. I'm just saying you dont know for sure what happened.

I'm not a Steeler fan.

Sure, there are a lot of allegations that are found to be wrong. Look at the mess with the Duke men's lacrosse team a few years back. Stripper claimed something happened and those kids had their names thrown around in mud. Some of them didn't get a good sniff for jobs because of the publicity. And that turned into being a false claim.

However, I think when it comes to athletes, fans are more she is crying wolf than anything. Some of those allegations happened and guys like (insert stud athlete) got away with it. I would think its better to stay away from those types of athletes. The smart ones don't put themselves into position to even get socked with an allegation. I take things seriously regarding high character guys.

E Kane and the Penguins is a futile topic. Like other have said, I really wouldn't want him on my team and I don't think the Pens would have any interest in bringing him here.

I know...I'm far from a goon lover. But Martin is more effective at his job than most goons. Too much for a cap strapped team..but any bottom feeder with money to burn its not bad at all. Honestly I expected him to get WAY overpaid.

I'm trying to remember the poster here who bolted prior to the season. He had a love interest in Matt Martin. He thought it would be a great move for the Pens to get him and ship Neal to the Islanders.

They are and they still have a way to go IMO But, they now have a competent defense, which is something we couldn't have said two years ago.
