I'm fine with it. It'd suck to lose Botteril to another org but The Old Man was phenomenal last year. Wouldn't be surprised to see him retire two years into the contract anyways.
- Victoro311

mixed emotions. JR was phenomenal but he has lost as many trades as he's won historically. I'd guess a lot of his good decisions were made as a group with Botterill and Guerin. I'm happy to keep JR but will it be at the expense of one of those two guys?

Guerin was in an interview the other day saying Tom Fitzgerald was the one that pushed to sign Sullivan in WBS. Just saying JR didn't pull all the magic strings.

I mean Montreal didn't like pk attitude right? They trade him for weber who hates radulov then give radulov 5.75? Who's worse Edmonton or Montreal?

Have we signed Cullen and Schultz already?? I'd be happy with both coming back to the team.

yea I think he will be one of the odd men out.
- dbell646

If Tampa can find a way to fit Stammer, the the triplets, Drouin, and Hedman under the cap long term that's a win. It'd suck to lose guys like Killorn, Namestikov, and Koekoek at some point but such is life when you draft so damn well.

Not suggesting the contracts are bad. Just impossible to have a 8 player "core" group. Of Drouin, Palat, TJ - 2 could be good as gone.
- stowerkraut

There's going to be a Chicago situation going on there. They got discounts on Stamkos and Hedman, but good players will have to leave.

Bishop would be the first and most obvious.

Yzerman is doing a great job getting guys to sign undermarket. Stamkos/Hedman are both $4 million under what they would get UFA maybe $6 million.

If aging power forwards are worth 7 years 42 then franchise centers/franchise 1d would be getting paid insane in this market.

- sditulli

This is why the salary cap works. If there wasn't one, Stamkos would easily be making between $11-$12 million.

Bishop's days in Tampa are numbered. Even if he's not traded no way in hell hes resigned this next offseason

Yup. He could be gone this summer. People keep saying he's the more attractive acquisition over MAF, but he's an UFA after next season and will be looking for 7mil apparently.

Yeah that sucks, I was hoping the Pens would have taken a shot at Grabner.

EDIT: thought he was a LW.. nevermind.

So nothing on Justin Shultz at all huh? Kris Russel too although I would take Shultz any day over Russel. Maybe the old man can swing a trade for Kuni and then sign both. He sure gave a lot of dmen 2 way contracts today.

Ekblad signs for 8 years at 7.5 AAV. Dermar Derozan(basketball) gets 28.7 AAV for 5 years!! Neither seems worth quite so much. Going to be a crazy day I thinks.
- Dcoms

Ekblad is a very good young Dman. Considering what I've seen already in some of these deals, this is very good for Florida.

Typical Jets fan puts Scheifle on his list of elite young forwards and leaves off Eichel, Draisaitl, Gudreau and Hall.

2012. Radulov violated the curfew during the playoffs. Weber was his "C". This is going to be awkward in MTL.

Gaunce, Percy, WarSOFFsky, Oleksy -- in addition to Bengtsson and Prow --- in addition to all the Dmen we just drafted. Is this shaping up to a Pouliot trade or just a ton of 7th Dmen?
- YouMeAndDupuis9

Not trading Poulliot as per Rutherford as per the DK site, will be given every opportunity to shine.
