Pretty sure the Rangers Stanley Cup window all but closed this past season. Hank is still the man but with those Staal and Girardi contracts I can't see them contending any more. Not to mention the division is pretty stacked.

There are only two Rangers, other than the RFA who have any trade value, of note. Hank and MCD. There is no reason to trade MCD! And nobody wants to trade Hank. Even if they asked him to waive his NMC, it's pretty good bet they would need to eat a chuck of his contract. So, when you look at it realistically, they have no options.

The question is, why would you trade any of the players you mentioned? Other than Stepan, whose NMC, just kicked in, the others have manageable contracts, or are players you wouldn't want to deal.

I think the core could use a little shakeup so if so of those rumors for example of a Stepan/duchene type of package is out there I am listening to all

I mean right now the Rangers replaced Staal, yandle, Moore and stalberg with grabner, Holden and gerbe

They cant honestly sit there and say we are good going into next year. I expect a trade at some point to shake things up.
