I wasn't even comfortable for the 3 year 5.5 per that was offered
- .....

I was.

But term was a problem to me. Anything more than three years price should go down not up.

Okoposo gets paid the same and is four years younger but a seven year term?

Brouwer to Calgary.

Is this in part the Hitch effect?

Staal for only 3.5 for three. Shoot that is a solid play. Blues should have been in on that.

Can the blues retract their QO to Nilsson?

Going to be a different kind of year next year that is for sure

Looking at the cap, think we are probably done now honestly.

Schwartz/Statsny/Tarasenko
Steen/Lehtera/Fabbri
Perron/Berglund/Jaskin
Upshall/Brodziak/Sobotka
Reaves/PRV

JBo/Pietro
Gunnar/Parayko
Edmonson/Shatty

Allen
Hutton

I'm not sure I like the gamble of signing an Allen extension now instead of seeing how he does without a safety net first.

I'm really surprised Perron money is that high. For that money, I would have guessed that Brouwer would have been back.

A lot of us have said for a while that if Backes wanted Kesler money he should get it elsewhere. Looks like that is exactly what is going to happen.

And the day just keeps getting worse.....more overpayment to cut into the cap in the future.

I don't like it at all escpecially at the premium he was given. A strong year from allen proving it only likely costs you 750k aav on the deal. Ugh.

Well if they're not impressed by his play next year they can leave him unprotected in the expansion draft and protect Binnington if he comes on strong

Tough to b excited for next year's Blues. Can anyone honestly say they think a year from now we'll look back at today as when we made the changes to win the Cup?

I'm left hoping for a Shattenkirk + Sobotka deal for some help up front. But looking at trade history, if that's going to happen it would be today. Trades just don't seem to happen after July 1.

But with the big contract extension, if he doesn't play well, Vegas won't select him. if he had a shorter cheaper deal, that strategy works. At over 4mm a year, it won't work.

This is the first point in time that I think Army is truly at risk, lots of choices made this summer that could be questioned next spring (Hitch, assistant coaches, moves today, etc).

Oh and 2 years on Hutton too.....

These moves are going to take some time to digest and I'm going to sit out posting for a bit, count to 10 if you will. Ugh.

I've been talking about taking a year off from hockey for a while now, I just get too worked up about. Barring a monumental move, this is looking like the year to do it.

I mean I am quite serious. I don't even need stats just need to look at him, nhow he positions himself and reacts.

I don't mind Perron over say Brouwer or over paying Backes. But follow that up there are a lot of young players that became free agents this year that have upside. Why not gamble on them?

Something is up here though. I kind of understand, I do not care for St. Louis myself. Though I am not really a fan of many cities, if I am going to live in one I prefer walking more.

I know they may not want him if he falters I'm just saying that we can shift and protect one of our other prospects.

The way I look at it is that with that contract the AAV of 4 million isn't awful, there would be a rebuilding team that could eat that at some point if needed

I think you need to play a full season healthy and as the unqualified starter before catching that kind of cheese.

What the hell is up with Amrstrong? Has he lost his mind?

I am with you. Maybe in the meantime the NHL figures out how the internet works.

Because I am getting ready to ditch Dish. They have been a really good company mind you. Just so many ways to get that content without paying so much at this moment. I have to get a bunch of channels and pay more to get NBC Sports. Well I hate their broadcast anyway.

It will be hard. I doubt I can do it.
