What do you think of Troy Brouwer and what do you think he will command if he hits free agency? |

Would take Seidenberg on the cheap... Hamhuis will make some bank with some team and it ain't Pitt - nelson911
Seidenberg just seems to fit JR's MO of bringing back players he knows on the cheap!!!
That is how we ended up with Cullen. JR did it over and over again with the Canes...some good, & some bad.
I know they would prefer a RHD, but Seids on a cheap contract as a 5-6 D man who could jump up if needed wouldn't be a bad way to go for 1-2 years. |

Can somebody explain this Vesey situation. He becomes an UFA tomorrow, but I thought I read he can't sign until August? Does anybody know if this is accurate? |

I've heard August 15th is when he can sign... part of the entry level contract stuff or whatever. |

Yep, I would forego Cullen for Seidenberg. |

as long as theyre going the fleury/murray route, they really cant do a single thing.
granted, they dont need to do a ton. but i wouldve taken the chance of trying to move him to be able to address these issues. still, they could be in worse shape. |

I can't believe the Pens haven't named Botterill the next GM. I thought JR was to be the GM only for a "short term". - errey12
Well he did sign a three year contract... |

I'd be ok with Vrbrata if he came really cheap and short term. Would be a lot more for it if he were a LW. |

I'd be fine with it if he was bargain-basement. Like one year, one mil. He'd actually be an okay fit with Malkin. Old and not going to help with anything other than putting the puck in the net would be the downside. That and him being around probably means they'd have to trade Fehr. Forward group would have more skill, but a little less versatile. |

Did not know it was for that long. Thanks. - errey12
Two year, with a 3rd option I think was it specifically. He took the option obviously, and perhaps him and the owners didn't feel the next guy up was ready, or they want him to show how to act after a cup win. |

Lets be real... I don't care how good you can act like Shero is... this is 90%+ on Chiarelli being a total moron. - Guile
i think the proportionality of the heart emojis reflected that balance haha |

Right winger - no thank you. |

Well i counted... 1 to 19...
so 95% on Edmonton GM being bad... fair enough |

Would prefer Hudler if possible. |

Scenario: Fleury and Kunitz are traded for draft picks and/or prospects.
Question: What do you do with the $9.6M freed up from these moves and whatever small cap space is left after Dupuis' LTIR? |

Obtain a good LW, 3-4.5 mil dollar range via free agency or a trade with these new assets.
Resign Shultz, I'd offer him the Ian Cole deal, hope he bites, not much more money than that.
this is also relevant on whatever the (frank) we are doing with Pouliot
If unable for Schultz, maybe just look another depth Dman, in the Lovejoy styling.
1 more Depth player (Cullen depending btw). If Cullen stays, then enjoy having some cap space for once... it'll be gone next season with Murray and Dumo extensions. |

I would start by signing a backup goalie (Reimer, Enroth, Hutton, etc). Signing one of Lovejoy/Schultz. And then with the remaining $4-5M, man theres jut too many options to even think about that. Opens the door for trading for someone like Yakupov or even someone with a bigger salary. Even opens the door for blockbuster deals like shipping out Hornqvist in a Duchene/Barrie kind of deal.
Plenty of free agents that could be useful...McGinn, Hudler, Demers, Boedker, Ladd |

I need a name(s). Also, what would $3-$4M of cap space do for a Cup contender with a full roster? Trade deadline acquisition? |
