For Hall?
- DarthKane

Travic Harmonic was offered one for one to Oilers and they turned it down.

New Jersey doesn't see that much closer to Western Canada....

I see how Tyson Barrie helps the Jets as a now, but you gotta think later on, trouba is gonna be a really really good player.

I gotta agree with Chris Kuc

When Blackhawks prospects Morin, Dahlbeck, Olsen, Clendening, Paliotta were moved by the hawks there was all this fan uproar about how they were trading the future...now all are released and becoming free agents on July 1st (Thanks Matt!)

It is really easy to question moves but after awhile you gotta think some of the people in charge know more than the fans...(cough)

Any input on why Ralph Jarratt, out of the WHL, didn't get drafted? I thought he was projected, last year, to get drafted in the first round this year.

Hamonic to NJ.

Sounds like a done deal.

I was in Panera today, and started wondering why there has been so little info on Breadman's extension. I know that July 1st is the magic date - but zero speculation in years of term which leads me to believe the conversation is not going smooth.

I just hope the Roszy signing was a depth move. Maybe he will be in Rockford and be this years Cumiskey.

And agreed, resigning Mash was a HUGE mistake by Stan. Get ready to watch much better players press boxed while Mash is out there with his cement skates and not even hitting people.

- maria_wyeth

I think "HUGE" mistake would be signing him for a 1.5 mil dollar deal. At 575K they are pretty much just filling a roster spot. Playing him might be the mistake, but tough to call it a huge mistake when the coach and teammates seem to like him and you are saving cap space.

Part of me thinks that the front office knows a move has to be made because barring any move you are hoping for a vet to take a sweetheart deal to contend or relying on Vesey to sign. They are smart people and have to know that vets take those cheap deals when it looks like they are going to win, it is going to be hard to convince anyone besides Campbell to come to town when everyone knows that you aren't going to do much with your top guys playing 20+ minutes a game all season because the bottom two lines are filled in with rookies.

Was on the Buzzcast this afternoon. One of the guys interrupted the discussion to say it sounds like a done deal.

Just have to see if it goes through, I guess.

Hamonic is now closer to home, doesnt have to cross Manhattan or the Hudson now and fly out of an airport 48 seconds closer to home

Last year Q seemed to play him when we played against other heavy teams (STL, LA, and WPG). Hopefully he is fighting for that position with Baun and we won't have to have that extra $50k/yr on the cap.

Guys that I believe are rwaiver eligible are McNeil and Baun (I think he signed a one-way contract).

Wiz, I have been saying that for a long time. Each and every trade the Hawks have made that involves one of the "next best" prospects is treated on these boards with such anxiety that you would have thought we traded away the world. The amount of pineing that goes on for them reaches almost comical levels. Take that list and add a few more like Stanton and Pirri. Time will tell what becomes of Johns (and TT), but chances are at best the will be serviceable pros and not much more

Boll isn't a goon he's a solid enforcer type a goon is someone with like 5 career points and 200 pim. Boll has always been a good player willing to answer the bell, but yes he would be my choice hopefully he gets a deal for like 675,000 and beats out Mashinter. Also who ever said Baun would whoop on Mashhinter is sorely mistaking if they are talking about in a fight.
- vandymeer23

Boll has only scored more than 7 points once in the last 8 years. There have to be better options than he or Mashinter for the bottom 6. Maybe as a 13th or 14th forward (press box) he would be ok.

It's this x1000.

Prospects are just that - prospects. You have NO idea whether they will make it or not. Apart from maybe the MLB, no prospects disappoint as much as in the NHL.

You must ALWAYS consider the now first. You worry about the future later. If there's a player that helps you NOW, you pull the plug on a trade and don't look back. If you're rebuilding, that's another story. But for a team like the 'Hawks, Ducks, Kings, Pens, etc. that are always in win-now mode, they should NOT have to worry about "mortgaging their futures" if it means getting a player that will help them immediately. I can't stress this enough from my point of view.

Sounds like former #panther Dman Brian Campbell is headed back to #Blackhawks on a short (likely 1 yr) deal #NHL

- mrpaulish

My prediction: IF Campbell is signed then Crawford is moved. The defense is really deep with his addition.

Here is the link to Patrick Kane on Hockey Central today--- talking about many things-- losing Shaw-- having input with players IF Bowman / Q ask--- and they have--

The more I think about this-- the Hawks success driven by the core-- has really allowed other teammates to become wealthy--- because without 19-88-2-7-81-4 No One makes any money-- Sport v Business--- Friendship v Business-- finding a way to coexist--

I'm sure Bufyglien, Saad and Shaw all grateful for the chance to win with the core-- and then get paid-- they didn't take any hometown discount either--

Now lets see if Campbell comes back--- and I too had thoughts that Sharp would end up back in Chicago to end his career-- we have witnessed something very special here--

JJ you forgot to mention on the depth chart: The goalie they signed from Sweden "Johansson" whom I thought was on a one way deal?

Moved where? Honest question...do you think CC will waive to Buffalo? Personally, I don't, even with Eichel and the building core there. Dallas? I doubt Stan does any business with Nill unless he thinks he's fleecing him. Calgary? Didn't waive. (reported) So, where?

Just checked back in, only to kill the 10 Corona buzz I had from the snorkeling tour we did this morning in Playa Del Carmen. The signing of Rozy and Mash shows Q is still wagging the dog, and if he believes those are the best guys to bring in with all of the non qualified guys who have come available the last few days, then they arrogance has continued and SB has lost the power struggle. This is not encouraging...

agree to disagree.... what Stan has shown lately is that he is trying to control costs....like another poster mentioned, the signings at 575k and 600k respectively, are CHEAPER than the ELC's they would pay if those kids were on the roster opening day... if Mash is your 13th forward and Rozy is your 7th D, you aren't in any worse shape than you were yesterday....

I think Mash and Rozy are shrewd salary cap moves. Team needs a 13th F and 7th D. Carrying those two instead of two $800k Rockford guys saves $3-400k. I say $3-400 because I think Gus and Sved are low salary, so Rozy might not save that much

I don't see how signing two depth guys for league minimum is Stan losing the power struggle. Sounds more like throwing Q a bone.

was christian erhoff really that much worse a choice than resigning a 47-year-old rozi?
was erhoff concussed or was he too expensive?
