I hope Rosi is the 11th or 12th dman. He's too slow to be playing regularly. Somehow I knew we were going to wind up with Mashinter coming back. I was hoping we might be done with him playing over people that might actually help us win games, but it seems we are going to get the same that we did last year with him. Joy. Well I guess at least he didn't do something incredibly dumb like Montreal or Edmonton did yesterday. |

For some reason I thought I remembered him playing LW last year. Still would add scoring punch on the bottom six. I believe he was signed on a PTO by NJ last year, so shouldn't command too much. - Chunk
He might have played both actually. I know with Boston he was going on a tear with Bergeron and Marchand on their RW. |

Enough already about your hate for mash. Everyone knows how you and others feel but evidently those that know better as they are hockey professionals see something in him that you dont - Maggie
Haha! With all due respect, and mind you, I am saying with all due respect, Frank off. if you defend Mashinter's presence in the lineup then you're as drunk as Chiarelli was yesterday. |

Pass. Anisimov might be better than Bozak and Desjardins is a very useful player. - John Jaeckel
Agreed. I'd rather have Anisimov than Bozak. Take out the faceoff skills and Anisimov >> Bozak.
And Desjardins is a true mercenary for the Hawks. Quietly does his job, keeps it simple. He started off slow last year but found a groove. Plus he's a depth player we need for the 4th line given that Rasmussen still has not played a full NHL season and the other candidates are rookies or guys like Mashinter. IMHO, for the 4th line assuming Kruger isn't the 4LC, you start with Desjardins and fill out from him. |

Do you think he could end up just being a Tikhonov of Kempany? Friendly face for a few months? If Campbell signs, we have a set 1-4, and a group that can fit 5-8/9, excluding Rozy.
EDIT: And let's be honest, having him as "insurance" for $600K is not the end of the world. |

Interesting...I wonder what the returns would be for Trouba and Barrie.
It's a good thing Canada has a national holiday for the start of NHL free agency tomorrow. |

I gotta agree with Chris Kuc
When Blackhawks prospects Morin, Dahlbeck, Olsen, Clendening, Paliotta were moved by the hawks there was all this fan uproar about how they were trading the future...now all are released and becoming free agents on July 1st (Thanks Matt!)
It is really easy to question moves but after awhile you gotta think some of the people in charge know more than the fans...(cough)

Isn't CC a Montreal native? He'd be closer to home and be able to play in or against the Canadiens more often. I'd think he might love to be in that division. - stanleyhawk
Yes he is, but his home is in Chicago with his Chicago girlfriend and her Chicago family. That and actually playing for a contender I think are the two issues of greatest importance to him. |

Obviously you have become the expert on this blog. I really don't see the difference between Frank Off and F--k off which I am sure my good friend Eli will agree are banned and suspend able |

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the list. The Hawks seem to have moved very few prospects lately that have amounted to much. |

That was the big news on the Buzzcast today. Not reported by EK. So, let's see if it goes through. |

Pretty nice two-way d-man. Have to think the market for him, even after buy-out, would be out of the Hawks reach. But maybe there's some back-story or injury there I am not aware of. |

And agreed, resigning Mash was a HUGE mistake by Stan. Get ready to watch much better players press boxed while Mash is out there with his cement skates and not even hitting people. |
