Depth at what position? Eh? - hocktock
Maybe at front office?

Hawks dont have depth. They still need to fill out their roster. - ikeane
I'll say they don't have depth . Someone said on here close to being the worse bottom six in league and I would agree. Still can't believe we resigned Rozy n Mash.
Mcginn don't think we can afford him
Stall think he is done
Hudler don't think we wànt another small forward
forget the other names mentioned.
If bread man makes his bonuses this year say 2.3 million
and the Hawks sign him for say 5.5 mill for the following year
his cap hit will 7.8 for 2017 . So we could trade Crawford for nothing today
and still not be able to sign Breadman. So we can't realistically sign anyone over 2 million for more then this year.
I will keep repeating to myself WE HAVE WON THREE CUPS
WE HAVE WON THREE CUPS
WE HAVE WON THREE CUPS

Confused by all the push on RW like Stempniak and Hudler for example. Hawks have RW depth but not LW. We saw last year how difficult it is for guys to switch wings so how does the addition of a solid RW make sense for the Hawks? Prefer a McGinn. Is it just that the money won't work for a LW - supply and demand? |

JJ, what are your thoughts on the 1 year
term? I would think if the deal is right they
would want to lock him up for at least 2-3. - Murph76
I can think of a few reasons they want to keep it to one year, starting with trying to keep as much cap as possible off next year so Panarin can be fit in.
Source said "likely" one year deal

Hudler can play either side equally well, has played a lot of LW |

Anyone know if tsn or nhl network or sportsnet will be streaming free agent frenzy coverage in the US? |

Hudler in particular has played on both wings and has played well on both wings, so I could see the interest. Especially for a guy who had 76 points just two seasons ago, and has an insanely high shooting percentage over the last five seasons. |

Thanks. Not as familiar with where he's played well going by what I find in the Internet. That would be good. He's not a very big guy is he?
EDIT: thanks to Hawks 49 too. |

No problem. For the record, I don't think the Hawks will be able to afford Hudler. I bet he gets 5M+ from someone. Maybe a little bit less. |

Serius Radio is I think. Looks like NHL network is carrying Hockey Central's preview show at 10 central and then has the NHL Tomight Draft coverage for the rest of the day. |

Mashinter is utter crap! We already have guys on the team who can fight. Desjardin, supposedly Lundberg, and McNeil if he makes it. That being said, Q is clearly against fighting these days and I'm sure these guys will be asked to refrain like last year. Our beloved Hawks are intentionally soft as baby poop. - Murph76

Sigh. Hate the hard cap!!
JJ anything more on the TVR shopping? Like many here hate to lose a solid, inexpensive, young Dman but know that Stan's back is against the wall here. Anything more on Moore? Thanks again for sharing what you can. |

At $825K per for 2 years he would be a real bargain for somebody. Hawks should keep him. - RickJ
He's the odd man out, Rick.
Apparently . . . so I was told . . . they want Rozy playing with Kempny for language reasons.
He also potentially brings something of value back for the reasons you cite above. |

Shop Svedberg instead. - walleyeb1
Guys . . .
GUYS . . .
TVR has value. Svedberg not so much. It's not that they don't like TVR. It's not that they WANT to trade him.
LIKE IT OR NOT ...
Rozy was not signed just to give Q a warm, squishy feeling. He is GOING TO PLAY. Probably 40 games or more. And he is going to play because it is Kempny's first season outside of Europe.
So who sits in that event?
TVR.
Sure, he's a great insurance policy as a 7th defenseman, but the Hawks are likely saying, you know what? Maybe we can get some value for him, like a solid third or fourth line winger or a 2nd round pick—instead of having him in the press box for 30-40 games, which isn't fair to HIM.
OR, they decide to keep him, that is certainly possible. |

Do you think that he would waive to Buffalo? Yes, they have a young core but...Buffalo? - CanOCorn
The other day i was talking to co-worker and saying the same thing. We agreed the only way CC waives for Buf would be if they signed Stamkos too. Add Stamkos to their young core, and thats a team CC might want to be a part of. |

You should keep saying that ,we have more cups then anyone in the CAP era .And as many in 7 years as the team had won in it's entire existence, it is the best time EVER to be a HAWKS fan . We will not win every year ,we may not win for another 20 or 30 years .You have to enjoy the moment . I have said all along I did not believe they would do much this off season ,got a little caught up in all the wild rumors like everyone else ,but still . We were close last year ,much closer then many will give credit for . Game 7 could have gone either way ,and after that Dal goalies were crap SJ would have been tough but not unbeatable Pitt well maybe not they were on a mission ,but hey by then the HAWKS would have been to and Crow been there before ..Keep the Faith we still have some of the best players in the league ,and I don't think they are done just yet ...GO HAWKS !!!!!

Personally, i see Rosy more as a sub for campbell. let them split time to keep fresh legs out there.
Keith/Hammer
Campbell/Seabrook
Kempny/TVR
Rosy
Rosy can then sub into that lineup. |

Good on face offs, can play LW. Might be better paired with AA keeping possession of the puck and Kane on offense. |

The return of Dale Weise to the Montreal Canadiens is a real possibility. Habs are a strong contender. Hoping to add more character.
Not sure if heard but Andrew Shaw is with the Canadiens. #Insider |
