Anything on a possible trade involving AA or Crawford?

Even top scientists can't measure and quantify the laziness of Tomas Vanek on an NHL rink. The only guy who would want Vanek signed is Rosy because he knows he can still beat him in a race around the sheet.

That said, a couple of years ago Tavares turned Vanek into a point a game guy over about 40 games and then he was traded to Montreal where he thoroughly embarrassed himself in the playoffs with typical nightly gutless, lazy performances.

Not a fan of Vanek anymore. Got lazy it seemed like and some of his best success came in buffalo and when he was with Tavares (for a bit). I could see Bickell written all over it.

Looks as if AA is staying. His and Seabrook's NMC kick in soon. Hopefully there's room to sign Campbell and McGinn. Fill out the bottom of the roster as need be.

Thanks for the update. Puzzling over TVR? Return? Wouldn't be much cap space from that - saved or to play with. But this is something you've heard before a potential trade of TVR.

At $825K per for 2 years he would be a real bargain for somebody. Hawks should keep him.

Crunching numbers.... if cap stays at 73 mil. next year, and you sign Panarin for lets say 6mil a year...you have about 9 million left for 10 roster spots. Not ideal, but doable if those are the number. Now if cap goes down or Panarin wants more...than you probably have to get rid of someone. But we can worry about that next year.

They will probably lose him in the expansion draft. Trading him for a vet on an expiring contract would make sense.

Just thinking, Hudler would make some sense for cheap. Aging, but he can still finish. He also played well in Calgary. Also Czech too

Jooris, Hudler, and McGinn are interesting names. Still think that a guy who can skate, finish and who goes to the dirty areas (McGinn) is the best option for Toews.

Wouldn't TVR be exempt from expansion. For only plating 2 seasons?

Except that what vet is available who will play for same money and contribute what TVR does? The kid is just fine if slotted as a #5.

If they have interest in Yakupov why not offer TVR 1 for 1? Rumor is they wanted a third, I'm sure they would take TVR. Desperate for D.

Vanek is the kind of player who scores goal 6 and 7 in a 7-2 win. At the end of a season he has decent numbers but at the end of the day, it doesn't mean much.

Because at this point, TVR is an overpay for Yakupov.

Besides, it chiarelli. a 2020 7th rounder should do it.

No foot speed either. The Penguins demonstrated why that doesn't work anymore in the NHL. All Vanek deserves is a PTO somewhere.

I will have flashbacks of Brunette lumbering down the wing if they sign Vanek.

While that is true, I find it hard to believe a 3rd rounder is the asking price. I feel like a team definitely would've taken a waiver on him by now if that was it. Time will tell.

Trade TVR? A solid cost effective defenseman. Yea makes a ton of sense.

While I don't want to go nuts on Russian players Yakupov is the exact type of gamble the Hawks should consider. His star has fallen and he was consumed in Edmonton, but a change to Chicago with elite leaders like Seabs and Toews and fellow comrades as well could be the perfect situation for this player. While I think he's over-rated as an overall #1 and is not a generational talent, he still does have top end skill.

I'd take a shot....

Kyle Cumiskey for Yak. Chiarelli gets a Dman, Q gets somebody to abuse.

No. Just musing that there could be one - like Richards - that we don't see coming.

EDIT: thanks TT for reading my mind! You get the cookie!
