Meh. Don't worry about Stamkos. Leafs (seem to) finally have a plan. They look like they want to mostly draft a successful team. They want to do it on their terms. They said it all along and it's taken some people (not you) a while to realize that.

It's why Shanny wanted Hunter. If they were going to draft top 4 overall and that was it (aka Edmonton), no need for Hunter. Tambellini could do that. It's why we got Babcock. Ron Wilson or Randy Carlyle can shout "Let's Go" as much as they want to a veteran team, but Mike can teach. He can handle young kids. He can take the spotlight off the kids and call them out when need be.

Stamkos is disappointing to some, mainly for his "stringing along", but it doesnt change the Leafs plan at all, so no harm no foul. I think (just my opinion) they'll look to draft 5 of their top 6 forwards and 3 of their top 4 D.

There will be pain. We have to be patient. We have to trust these guys. They have not sold us a salesman story at any point in their employment. It'll make winning the cup (making the playoffs ) all the more sweeter

Might not be the worst idea for the leafs to sell high on gardiner.

That's what I was adding with a previous post. They hopefully have a legit goalie, and a legit #1 Centre in the near future. All within a week or 2. But the next hole is that top pairing D. Rielly is coming along wonderfully. But finding another is gonna be tough. I'm gonna assume it's coming via trade

I like Stamkos, and thought there was starting to be a good chance he's land in Toronto. And it would have been a pretty big boost. the forwards would be instantly set. But they're not THAT far off anyway. The Leafs need to focus on D, just like they needed to last week.
