Have not seen Larsson play enough to have an opinion about him.
But we already have the weakest overall defense in the NHL so I sure don't want to give away a decent player in Gardiner.

I'd put a legitimate value offer in for Schultz, maybe add a second year and play him with Gardner in Babcock's system. Low-risk, high-reward.

EDIT: Contractual provision in Schenn's deal he is not allowed to fight under any circumstances, other than in defense of Marner, Matthews or Nylander.

You're not getting Landeskog (or Duchesne) for Gardner, and I agree trading a 3/4 guy in an area where there isn't a lot depth makes little sense.

We got rid of a decent number 2-3 in Phaneuf, a sort of tough 4-5 in Polak, and replaced them with Frankie Corrado and Connor Carrick, a couple of guys not good enough to be a 6-7 on better teams.

Hoping Zaitsev can be decent but I would be shocked if Lou doesn't give up some forward prospects for a d-man, now that he has the goalie thing solved.
